Smoky Mtn East TN

I ordered an assortment of guineas from Cackle. Ticks here are horrible, so that's the main reason I wanted them, but they seem pretty difficult to find around here so I may have to have a go at breeding guineas as well!

I have 3 15 week old bantam Silkies I'd be willing to let go. I have absolutely no idea what gender they are, but they're extra fluffy, blue and adorable :)

I'm in Jamestown, which is about 135 miles from Morristown, according to Mapquest :/

@Funkychicken,
Thanks a lot! Its a bit far to go, but appreciate the offer. I'm envious of your French guinea, as common from assortments, if you get any. they are light and spotted with almost pointed helmet type knobs (i think thinking of right ones), and are biggest heartiest longest laying of the types and species, but worst parents. lol. most don't know difference of and all are mixed/bred together. i had a couple families at sales last summer, fall all trying to give me cheap and free keets, way too many keets! i passed though as they are really creepie clown looking things as adults and make weirder evrn loud noises.. now my scottish shepherd is loving final results, as such awful ticks on him that woman of house bought a shaver and shaved him.. bald (except poof on tail tip, ear fluff, and top of head around eyes. he is loving getting to be a house dog of hers spoiled rotten. Our three had chased off a pack of hounds that came on our land, and got full of holes all over for trouble, as as tough asid like to tell my dogs are at protection of property etc, a large pack of hounds are a lot tougher. my mamma dog had her pups right before or after that, and now a pack of shepherd/chows came on property and went after critters but smelled and went for pups, and mamma and he who thinks/wishes daddy went berserk (shepherd oddly hid as soon as i came out when heard chaos) and barely obeyed me went bellowed to stop at border. the fam that owned seemed ok and were just having get together and had brought four or so dogs to walk and enjoy too, dogs went playing with grandkids and slipped off from over there. Well now mamma dog has been limping since, but no marks just really sore on thigh were she was grabbed and shaken. also had my original drake suffer minor wing dammage, as he and other drakes were after those large dogs distracting, letting females on nests or on young go untouched, till dogs got out there.

pups aregetting heavy and playful already, and one almost gets out of kiddie pool welping box (woman of house made me set up safe inside after was able to find and crawl into den under back of one of sheds (shepherd been seeming guarding a couple nests of chickens and always was filthy and caked in soil.. I now know why, as after she apparently had her pups, other two dogs wouldn't go near area of den, or food at all while outside, until moved pups inside (mamma acted at first like she would eat my hand and face before command to stop).

Daw, adorable :love

And yea, I figured it might've been a bit far, but thought I'd offer. If you're ever in the area, I usually have some chicks running around ;) . Guineas and Silkies seem to be in short supply around here. I've seen a couple of hatchery quality Silkie roosters at the flea market but that's about it. And people selling keets, forget about it, their prices are just ridiculous! So, I bit the bullet and ordered the 15 minimum from the hatchery. Their assortment is supposed to consist of White African, Pearl Grey, Royal Purple and Lavenders, sadly no French guineas. If you want to go the hatchery route, I did notice Cackle has a small shipment special (6) going right now! They're $64 with free shipping and you get to pick your type, though the assortment of 15 is $52.50 (+ shipping), so cheaper if they pick what you get.

Good luck finding your poultry and with those adorable pups!

@funky chicken,
Any pics of your silkies and guinea keets?
Do you know you have to train/settle guinea (supposedly as i don't know just what see online, and hear from sellers) basically like pigeons if you want them to come to roost lay and take feed in coop/area? yes sadly decent silkies n guinea are hard to find now. even what's show stock are paled deeply to what once was.

my fav pup and rest already great to play with and watch, as they crawl all over pool, mamma, and almost get out already, as well as howl to yotes etc together at night (my dogs do that to show dominance and territory, then rest leave ear shot slowely or soon). The pups hear me come in after being outside, and some bark at me till i talk to show who is (partly cause parents bark snarl before they see me or i talk to them). i was wrestling with my fave pup and she she tried to growl and show lip then bit down good (for a pup) on my finger trying to wrestle me. :)) rest of pups temp testing and great potential for everything else, but that one will be stubborn and a handful better for an actual cattle dog (if i don't/can't keep her myself), as she beats up rest of pups just dozing or knocking them out of way and tries to wrestle mamma and "daddy" when they clean her (she als,o howls barks etc and almost escapes a lot so could be very vocal/mouthy. lol). She is biggest over all too, but rest have gained on her fast! qualities in good working etc normal dogs, are always what unwanted in just house couch potato soul less pets..

I'm still waiting on my keets to get here, should be around the 9th (getting close!) but I'll gladly share them once they arrive! And yes, I'm prepared to keep them locked away for a while so they know where they're supposed to be. We're in the process of converting an old hog pen into a coop for them, so they have their very own space. Here's my small breeding flock of Silkies and Sizzles
though, and some of this years chicks
