How hot has it been? She could be dehydrated. The symptoms can be attributed to heat - weakness, lethargy, inability to stand, etc. It can't hurt to treat for dehydration and heat sickness. Mix a small bowl of water with a spoonful of sugar and a pinch of salt and baking soda, about 200ml of solution. Give it as the only water source. Dip her beak to get her to start drinking.

It’s been around 24 degrees but it was the morning and full access to water and shade so I didn’t think it was the case but I’ll definitely give this concoction a go. I’ve been keeping her inside and out of the sun incase it was related.

How is she doing now?
Thank you for asking. She’s “honking” less but she’s still opening her mouth as if gagging. I made her the concoction, added a little fresh ginger too and she’s on soft foods. Last night she was shaking her head a lot which has me thinking something is stuck in her throat. Had another good look last night down her throat and in her mouth, this time I had my son hold the torch so I could really get a good look and saw nothing. She’s pooping. Eating dog roll. I can hear bubbles and gurgling from perhaps her crop? It really does look like she’s gagging on something. If something is stuck will it pass through naturally or..

What does her crop feel like?

Just in case - feel all over her body, does there feel like an air bubble trapped under the skin somewhere?

Everything is feeling quite compact and tight, it’s hard to identify but when I could feel and hear the bubbles originally it would have been anterior thoracic, I’ve felt just now (she’s a lot better today 🥰🥰🙌) and can’t hear the bubbles gurgling that I had originally felt. Today she looks great. Even her open intermittent mouth breathing is less and isn’t opening as far. She’s definitely adjusted to indoor life haha. If she keeps improving like this she’ll be able to be back with her friends outside by the weekend 💗🤞🤞🤞
