Can't wait to see your coop in progress!!!!

So I got my 1st cuts in!!!

, I got 2x4x10 treated wood for the bottom frame and 4x4, also treated, for the "coop legs". I also got 2x4 of non treated wood for the top edge of the "coop legs. I went on to make the 2x4x10 edges square and made the boards even ( so they really are 9'10" 7/8 lol), then I cut the ends of the frame to 5'. The "coop legs" I cut to 20", 20 " since I could decided btwn 24" for more head room or 16 to ensure the entire structure didn't get too large (want to keep it under 6' including the roof)...so I split the diference with 20". The top of the "coop legs" I cut at 5' for the front and back and 4' 3" for the sides.

I wanted to prime and paint these parts before putting them together (since most will be on the ground) but after 1.5+weeks of sun, DRY HEAT and a forecast of no rain for the entire week, as soon as I open the primer can...queue in the thunder, wind and wild rain!!!!

Ok, due to weather and a little bit of laziness I'm not as far as I would like to be....but now I got the base and floor of the coop framed and primed. I got the floor board cut and ready to be added, but I got to move the coop closer to it's place before it gets too heavy! Another update Friday...tomorrow is date night! lol

The entire frame is even and square I promise! lol

Is 5' wide (even) and 10' 31/4" long

The coop floor (hmmm not spread even as it should be...I guess it was getting too late and I hade too many cold ones

) But it will work!
