Sorry to hear that. What were your temps throughout incubation?

I would crack them open and see if any started developing. If none started, I would blame the eggs themselves.

You should turn the eggs when waiting for them to go in the incubator but I almost never do this and have had no problems. However- I believe it is more important to do this with shipped eggs.

That is good to know, as I get shipped eggs. My first batch is in the incubator now and I'm hoping for the best. I let them rest about 12 hours but didnt turn them. Hope it works out! Good info

No problem! My eggs from home, I just actually plug in an extra turning rack sitting on the counter, works out nicely.

You can also put them into the incubator and not turn the turner on for the first day or two as well. I haven't needed to do that myself, but it's an option.

If there was no sign of development when you opened them (which was brave, I am a bit of a coward and tend to think what is inside the egg is best left there -but that is just me) then surely they were not fertile. Unfortunately most people selling eggs for posting insist you let them know early in the incubation if there is a problem, otherwise they claim it is the shipping or the buyer's incubation method. I have just had 10 peafowl eggs fail so have an idea how you feel.

Shipped eggs should not be turned, they need to rest for at least 36 hours so that the air cells can stabilize.

True. I ship eggs from my lines and I have had eggs shipped to me. Often times I will put them in the incubator but don't turn the turner on until the next day. I have had good hatches and some not so good with shipped eggs. How they are packed also plays an important roll so they don't get scrambled in transit.

Also summer is not a good time to ship eggs. When the weather is hot, like it is here, the eggs are less fertile and the same pretty much holds true in the winter when it's cold.

Yep! I've got an incubator full of both my eggs and my friend's, as she was insistent that she wanted chicks NOW. Honestly, I'll be really happy if more than half of them hatch. It's just too hot. Buying shipped eggs is such a gamble in the first place, I wouldn't do it when it's hot either.

I'm sorry. I know it's frustrating. A lot of people candle on Day 3-4, if you don't see any development in any egg they probably either didn't survive the shipping, were too old, or were not fertile to begin with. This shows what a developing egg on Day 4 looks like:
