(correction) I got my first 2 eggs on July 23rd not July 2nd. My pullets were 17 weeks old when they began to lay eggs.

I have always been partial to the New Hampshire and Rhode Island Reds. Maybe that's because I have always lived in New England and it was the most popular bird around, but to me they are great all around birds.I am having fun raising chickens. I think I will get some heritage birds next time since I already have some great layers. Any suggestions, anyone?![]()
