it looks like bruising
like it possibly got is web/toenail stuck and yanked it out

I have seen frost bite before........Either it was caused from getting its web stuck or frost bite......

exactly and with frostbite it is usually red and puffy before it dies
so, i dunno


@courtlet you could try an epsom salt soak, i bet she'd enjoy it

She hasn't been outside yet at all but it's warm where we live 60s-70s right now.
Yea, I think it's just poop on her heel. I had been putting the ducklings in my bathtub with a couple inches of water daily. She loved when I used the sprayer. She would stretch her neck out and stand under it.
I tried putting her in today but she can't stand so it didn't go well. She dunked her bill and drank some but that was it.

Yes....Getting cold could be its cause of being lethargic also...........I know frost bite ....I treated a stray cat once...

i am wondering if it was squished somehow, like maybe the feeder was set on it and now its hurt/bruised

They're eating the 20% protein chick feed and some rolled oats w meal worms as treats. The other three are thriving. It doesn't make sense.

They have the small plastic feeders for chicks still so there was nothing heavy in the pen with her just the other ducklings until a day ago.
