So I'm new and I have a question

@MissLydia I was thinking the same thing about the lack of blood flow. I'm a nurse so of course with humans if an extremity is cold and purple = no blood flow lol but again these are our first ducklings so I'm no expert and had no clue what could have caused it.

I saw on the Niacin bottle it promotes cardio health so there's a chance it still could be related to a deficiency I suppose.

Thanks so much for all your help and suggestions. Hopefully she will start to perk up in the next day or so. I will follow up with how she progresses.

Please do keep us updated.. We're all pulling for her.

I don't think my little duckling is going to make it. This morning she is worse than yesterday and feels totally dehydrated. Her breathing is very labored and shallow. I held her wrapped in a towel for quite some time.

She drank and ate all day yesterday up till midnight when I headed to bed. There has to be something else going on that in five hours she would detoriorate that greatly.

Thanks so much for everyone's help. If I need any advice for the remaining three, I know where to look.

I am wondering if it maybe a heart defect of some kind @courtlet I wish I knew more, I had a Muscovy duckling that I am pretty sure died from some kind of heart problem she was never real active and eventually just laid around being left by herself. I was going to have my dh put her down when she just died on her own. She was 5 weeks old.
I am very sorry and wish your lil one would perk up and get better. It's heart breaking to lose them.
