I finally grabbed my black and white hen. I have two of them and of course I forgot the breed right now-sigh. Anyway she is huge. I have had her for two weeks and she is of laying age. I have 7 chickens (5 RIR)so I really have no idea if she is laying yet.
I have been trying to grab her for a couple days
Her butt is swollen I think although lots of poop hanging on and obvious poopy feathers have been pulled out. Her vent looked okay.
Her belly is big and soft. I stuck my finger in her vent and she seems very hot.I couldn't find a crop although I had just given her and the others some cracked corn for a treat.
tomorrow I will bathe her. I took her to my travel cage in a cool garage. After reading some threads I made her a scrambled egg, crumbled bread, shell in the eggs, grit, and some yogurt. She has cool water.
Anything else someone can think of?
She doesn't seem sick but just has the huge underbelly, waddles around and the crusted feathers
