Solstice Eclipse

I didn't see a thing. Nothing but cloud cover here. The moon was shining brightly at 11PM...by around 12:30, pitch black...and still pitch black at 3:15AM. Bummed - big time.

Got to see the eclipse!!

It was really beautiful and red...... And while I was laying out in my sleeping bag all bundled up and staring at the sky I got to see shooting stars!!!

I got to see it in and out of rolling, low clouds. It was about 70 degrees; if it was colder and a little windy-er, it probably would have been clear. But I got to see the rusty orange color over the full moon several times so I'm happy. Patsy (my collie) thought I had lost my mind; she was happy for the opportunity to potty, but couldn't figure out why I was laying the chair at 1:40 in the morning! It felt pretty special and I'm glad to have had to chance to see it and be a part of it...

We have big windows in our bedroom and the moon was right there .. just behind a naked oak tree .. with rolling clouds . it was beautiful and eerie and unique all at the same time .. And I didn't even have to get out of bed..

I got to see an overcast sky. That's it. Like I've said a few times today...I will be able to tell my hypothetical grandkids I was alive when this happened...even if I didn't get to witness it.
