Some questions on hatching eggs

Hopefully someone else will come along soon that will be able to help more, I have never hatched chicken eggs, only duck and quail, and have only assisted a couple of times.
My instinct says that if there was blood with the pip then maybe he did it a little early, but maybe needed to for the air.... and if he is managing to turn then even if he is not breaking the shell then maybe give him a bit longer? Is he attempting to break it or just turning?
I wish I could be more help

It's turning the whole way around but not cutting the shell, please help

So it's rotated around but hasn't been able to strike the shell and break it? If that's the case, I would open up the shell over the air cell only and assess what's going on with it, see if everything has absorbed, etc, and then go from there.

Thanks Pyxis, sorry to keep you busy with all my tags - is there a resource of experts in different fields that an be called upon in times like this? Or do I just need to start making my own notes so it's not just the experienced people with the really memorable names I can tag in situations like this?

Thanks so much Emmaxx for finding help, and thanks Pyxis for the idea! we cut the top of the egg and unfortunately when the chick turned halfway around and did not cut the shell it suffocated:hit.

I don't mind :) Unfortunately there is no such resource here that I know of. So you'd have to remember names, lol.

No, it definitely wasn't your fault! I will be off the computer for the rest of the night!

Its the morning of the twenty-fourth and nothings pipped I'm going to do the float test this morning what will I see if their alive or dead?

I haven't done a float test before but I think it's just to see the subtle moving of a live chick that you'd otherwise miss, so you're just looking for the egg to move or wiggle.
