Someone brought their non-service poople into the grocery store!!!

No one has really addressed the issue of doggy potty accidents. Walking into petco and petsmart and seeing that is one thing but at a grocery store??? I know most owners think their dog is well trained but sometimes they "gotta go" and if you've been out on errands what's a dog to do? I've seen it at home depot and target's just a step away.

Dogs, other than service dogs, don't belong in stores other than pet stores. They don't belong anywhere food is stored or prepared. I don't understand why people feel the need to bring their dog with them into stores in the first place. It's a dog; leave it at home!

I agree with some of the other people on here:

Food Stores should be SERVICE DOG ONLY!!!
Non-Food stores should be ((UNDER CONTROL))DOGS ONLY!!!

I can't remember where I saw it, but has anyone else seen the video of the woman with a service PONY??? I'm sure I didn't dream this, I saw footage of a woman riding her service pony down the grocery aisles of a Super Target.

Then there was a woman, can't remember if it was the same one, who couldn't have a service dog for some religious reason and so had another type of animal to assist her.

And don't some folks have monkeys for service animals? Have you ever seen one of those in public, or do they just assist folks at home? ("Another banana? Why, thanks, Bobo!")

I would hope that folks who do have their wonderful service animals would have them wear their identifying vests or harnesses when they're out in public. Or at least not get offended if someone asks for confirmation, even just a verbal one. People who bring their pets into stores can make things more difficult for those who depend on their service animals.

So leave those ponies at home when you go into town...

Once I went to a Med Express clinic for a tetnus shot and saw a woman with her pet dog in the waiting room there!

I don't bring my dog into restaurants or grocery stores, but I'm sure he would behave better (and be cleaner) than a lot of kids.

As for the dogs, any food store

People can be delusional when it comes to their pets - "oh fluffy would NEVER go on the floor" as they step over the puddle... We do take our dogs every where, but only in stores where they are allowed - TSC (they have bones at the checkout for the dogs

), other pet stores... We used to be able to take them in Home depot, but of course that was ruined by someone who took a dog in (it was a pocket dog) and it bit a kid when they got too close.

but that's ONLY if there were no hotels around that accepted dogs. I do have an issue with hotels that take dogs, but charge extra per dog

My husband actually asked the owner of one what the difference was between a dog and a little kid. They can create more of a mess than a dog, and also be louder and more obnoxious - no offense to all the good parents out there!!

Many businesses do ask but the owner can fib and there is nothing the clerks can do about it. In most areas owners can carry cards denoting the animal is a service pet or a jacket but it is not necessary.

I know as I have a friend who drive a city bus.
