I was thinking the same!? Do you think the owner might be mistaken? That's a standard sack of flour!

I would thinking she could do 5 ml and call it good?
My peahens weigh close to 9 pounds, so it's I think it's possible he could weigh that (a RIR rooster will be close to that). Some formularies list the amoxicillin dose as 150 mg/kg, so unless he weighs *much* less than 9 pounds I think 6.4 ml is okay.

Yes ladies. Hes one of the biggest roosters I've ever seen lol. My MIL is sending me a full body pic of him. Hes such a pretty roo. He's a very big boy. I pick him up and carry him and he def weighs more than my newborn. Hes a big boy. Wow maybe I misheard the vet on my phone. The reception wasnt the greatest. I will def change the doasage starting tomorrow.

These pics do no justice. Ill take one tomorrow of him with his girls. He looks alot bigger next to them. Lol He's also bigger than the ducks.

Nah, he was probably just being conservative in his estimation. Was he an avian vet or standard domestic pets type vet?

Have I told you how proud I am of all you've done for this guy while carrying a newborn around!? Well, I'm going to tell you again! :wee:love

How old is your little one? My youngest is thirteen (my 'little' girl :th) My oldest just started drivers ed, he'll be 17 in September :eek:I remember the day I brought both of them home like it was yesterday!

Hope you found a vet to help you, one time I found a turtle in the road that was crossing the road because his pond dried up, someone had ran over part of his shell and the turtle could flap it with his arm, I brought it to the vet, told her the story, she didn't want to help it because it was not my pet, and I asked her to fix the shell out of sympathy. The vet finally super glued the edge back, and I brought the turtle to a lake and set it free.

She did find one willing to consult over the phone and she's made some great progress with him!

That was sweet of you to advocate for that little turtle! :love

Aww Thank you. My newborn is almost 2 weeks old and I have a 7 year old boy and 8 year old girl. It hasn't been very easy with 3 kids and the rooster. But the hard thing has been bending down and stuff with my stitches, I had my first ever C section with my newborn. He was breech and didn't want to flip. But I cant sit here and complain. I feel good considering. I'm def okay and grateful! I dont think I can ever forget the kids being born or bringing them home. As they get older it's a bittersweet memory! How fast they grow!!:)

Yes I did find a vet who specialized in equine. I think thats the word. Meaning horses I believe??? He isnt local but he def sat on the phone with me for a good 20 mins and gave me so much insight and helped so much. I felt alot less stressed. He told me the outcome can be good all depends on the attention and time spent on his care. I assured him I will do whatever I can and he gave me alot of advice. Thank god he didnt have to do any of that. I'm very appreciative of that Dr. Awe I just love turtles. We caught a HUGE snapper last year while fishing in the stripper cut, he was almost 30 lbs! He sadly had a few bullet holes in his shell, someone seen his size and probably wanted to prize him or eat him. We let him go. He was old and had already been through so much. I love turtles. Theyre so cool. They get so big!

And yes we has a scale with us we use for big fish. He was right on the 30 lbs line. Very big turtle. Lol
