Your kids would love having the little peepers around! I think having chicks was literally the best part of my childhood. I was abused pretty badly as a kid, but those chickens were my best friends. I loved them so much. It's so cool to do it again as a quasi-adult. The feelings are still the same. Wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm personally of the belief that kids should grow up with a pet, be it a dog, a hamster or chickens. Just something they can hold and interact with. Learn to value life and how to care for something. It's a great experience.Lol! I always been around chickens growing up, I never thought I'd have feelings for a chicken or worry about one till Homer. I actually want to ask my in laws if I can just adopt him. He's my buddy now. Idk what they'll say though. I just might get some little peeps this summer. I think the kids would love that too.I told my MIL if Homer don't start getting better after the antibiotics and me trying to get the infection out that I was gonna take him home and out him in my basement till he gets better. I already have it planned out.. Then when he gets better I just wont take him back. haha. Idk we will see. She was okay with me taking him home though.
And I'm totally on team "You Keep Homer". Do your in-laws ever come over to your house? Cause if they don't you could just tell them he died and that way they'd never ask for him back.
