Songs You Hate to Hear!

Im not a big fan of any music anymore,..but the ones that really drive me nuts are anything by Taylor Swift,..she is like a cat squalling

,...and the "country" song that goes something to the effect,.."we like rain, rain makes corn,..corn makes whiskey,.whiskey makes my girl frisky,." Who thinks this crap up???? Plus gets paid for it????

I'll take silence anyday!

I think Taylor Swift is an OK singer...I love some of Carry Underwood's songs, such as "Jesus Take the Wheel", "Just a Dream", etc. She has a nice, naturally strong voice.

Country music is OK...some of it, anyway. The kind that Up-the-Creek describes is what I don't like. But I like some music with that country feeling, like some of Carry Underwood's songs.

Rap,
95% of country music,
anything written for and sung by persons under the age of 30,
any "genre" of music that has been invented in the past 15 years (ie: screamo, ultra-heavy-black-death-metal-polka, etc),
super high paced, high pitched techno rave crap,
Disney's specially bred, raised and train dancing kiddies (songs from actual Disney movies sit well with me),
boy bands,
guys that try to look and/or sing like girls,
and bands that use antics and "insane shows" more than actual talent and musical abilities. <-- There is a guy at my college who is trying to spark up interest in local bands which is great, however from the sounds of it the shows are a mess of things going on all at once, which annoys me. If it's a music show, keep it at that, don't add in live painting, gerbil juggling, flame eaters, dancing pandas and a confetti and marshmallow shower to occur all while the band is playing.

Crap, I think I have singled out most music that my generation listens to. Oh well, more good (albeit older than me) music for me.

DHs best friend will run out the door to buy ice cream as soon as he hears the truck. I swear the driver drives by our house slow waiting for DHs best friend. (No, we're not babies...DHs best fiend is 50!).

Luckily, the driver usually plays classical. I want to pop his tires when he plays "Do Your Ears Hang Low".

Stand By Your Man drives me nuts. I am sure that song's meaning as been twisted, but it just rubs me the wrong way.

The mop commercial song that tries to show his loves to the lady who got the new mop thing. Used to like that song alright. Now I just think of a stupid mop trying to be romantic.

"I Swear" by pick your choice of artists. It was SO over played by everyone who sang it, that I am just tired of it.

And many of Toby Keith's songs. I used to like him, but many of his more recent songs are whiney.

Oh, this thread makes me laugh!

I haven't been exposed to most of the American music of the last four or so years, thanks to my car's CD player, so I'm a little out of the times even though I'm only twenty-two.

I like nearly all genres at times (I listen to a lot of diverse music, mostly international music), but I don't think I can name a single country song that I like. The "twang" that seems to be necessary for it to be qualified as country does not appeal to me.

"My Humps" by Black-Eyed Peas drives me up the wall.

"I Would Do Anything for Love" is totally obnoxious in my opinion. You won't do WHAT?

I don't know the name of the song or who sings it, but for some reason that song that goes "If I traded it alllllll, if I gave it allllllll away for one thing...wouldn't that be something?" really irritates me. I used to hear it all the time in high school when I was working in the student store, and every time it came on I would fume a little.

Sorry 77horses, I definitely am not a fan of "Jesus Take the Wheel." I'm not sure what it is about it (other than the fact that I'm an atheist), but it grates on me for some reason.

I'm sure there are others that I can't think of. Amusingly enough, I actually like a lot of intentionally annoying music. I even have a mix CD my friends and I play in the car when we're on trips called "The Most Obnoxious Playlist EVER!" Of course, we've heard all the songs so much that we end up singing along loudly and laughing instead of being annoyed by them.
