Oh, this thread makes me laugh!
I haven't been exposed to most of the American music of the last four or so years, thanks to my car's CD player, so I'm a little out of the times even though I'm only twenty-two.
I like nearly all genres at times (I listen to a lot of diverse music, mostly international music), but I don't think I can name a single country song that I like. The "twang" that seems to be necessary for it to be qualified as country does not appeal to me.
"My Humps" by Black-Eyed Peas drives me up the wall.
"I Would Do Anything for Love" is totally obnoxious in my opinion. You won't do WHAT?
I don't know the name of the song or who sings it, but for some reason that song that goes "If I traded it alllllll, if I gave it allllllll away for one thing...wouldn't that be something?" really irritates me. I used to hear it all the time in high school when I was working in the student store, and every time it came on I would fume a little.
Sorry 77horses, I definitely am not a fan of "Jesus Take the Wheel." I'm not sure what it is about it (other than the fact that I'm an atheist), but it grates on me for some reason.
I'm sure there are others that I can't think of. Amusingly enough, I actually like a lot of intentionally annoying music. I even have a mix CD my friends and I play in the car when we're on trips called "The Most Obnoxious Playlist EVER!" Of course, we've heard all the songs so much that we end up singing along loudly and laughing instead of being annoyed by them.
