Hello all! I hope all your feathery friends and yourselves are having a lovely day!

I have an EE(Gurdy... ironic!) who I believe has sour crop. She’s always been very friendly, so when she came up to me yesterday and I picked her up, nothing seemed out of the norm. That is until a very sour smelling liquid started coming out of her mouth when she was in my arms. She wasn’t gagging or anything, it was just coming out of her mouth. Now, I’ve had to do crop surgery on a different chicken before, and I know what it smells like when a chicken’s crop is sour, and it’s the same exact smell. So last night I emptied their food so they couldn’t eat any when they woke up. When I checked on all my hens this morning, they all had empty crops except for Gurdy, whos was still full. Her crop wasn’t rock solid(if anything it was squishy with some hard material inside), but still definitely had food in it from yesterday and was was pretty large, when she didn’t have access to food all morning. I definitely caught it early in Gurdy, whereas my last hen to have it was already very malnourished and could barely stand on her own two feet when I caught on.

Gurdy is currently out free ranging with the rest of the hens right now, but I’m wondering if I should be keeping her in the coop to prevent her from eating more? I’ve heard of yogurt helping, I’ve also heard of grit and oil helping, so I’m just wondering if anyone has any useful tips to get this under control before it gets bad? She’s still very strong and active, so it couldn’t have started too long ago. Should I try to force her to throw it up? Should I try Epsom salts?

ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
Thank you! ❤️
