Hello South Carolina.
Has anyone attended the Walterboro, SC Animal Swap in the TSC parking lot? Was considering driving over from Charleston for the once a year event tomorrow. Hoping maybe we can hand pick some birds. I am also hearing about an auction on the same day. Thanks in advance.

I'm a member in a couple of FB groups and it's not just Walterboro that does them. I think people are planning on one for Ravenel next month as well. I can't remember though. They're doing the semi frequently. Judging from what I've seen, there's going to be some pretty neat birds there I won't be going though since my coop needs finishing touches before I can move the birds in.

That's great to hear. I'm on Johns Island and the TSC is close by. Maybe I will do both.

I think the way it works is someone decides they want to do one so they contact the store and get permission for a day/time. Obviously, for it to be successful, that person would have to share info about it to FB groups or maybe even Craigslist. Probably some other places too, but my brain is fried from the sun right now and I can't think lol. There is a statewide FB group that shares info when possible. Since I'm not sure if links like that are allowed, you can search SouthCarolinaChicken in Groups and you should be able to find it that way.

Short story, since I think it's individuals that just decide they're ready for another swap that set them up, I don't think there's a go-to place for all of them.

The swap had a decent turn out. Found some of what I was hoping for and as usual, came home with some that I shouldn't have

Yes it is. We are very pleased with several we found. The unexpected ones make my bride happy. So, I am happy. Made some great connections with like minded people. One of which lives with a few miles of me as well. Good times.
