Guinea update: don't tell them, but I don't think they realize they're guineas! All three will let me pick them up, sans screaming bloody murder and, gasp, will take treats from my hand! Here is Jaques, the psuedo baby daddy and their psuedo baby momma Scarlet.

Oh, Jackie! Jaques has really gotten a lot prettier! Er.....more handsome! I have his brother still but he isn't near as handsome.

Those Guineas are ultra cute! That is simply amazing that they eat from your hand and you can pick them up. But screaming comes naturally to them when held, for sure! They scream a lot of times when I take them from the hatcher. I think those are the girls.

You have done a fantastic job in training them to be real birds and not spazzes! Mine are certainly the more spaz like keets.


I can't see Jacques feet but look at his brothers foot feathers. Unreal and he lives in the Muscovy pen on dirt and grass.

He isn't as gorgeous as Jaques but I like him because he has that buckskin color and my favorite Quarter horses were always the buckskins. We owned quite a few at one time.

Hey Amy...If you want I will have some chicks in 3 weeks if all goes well or I will be glad to ship you a few eggs to get you started...you are my partner in crime on the whites after all!!
I actually bought a space heater for my bathroom so I can keep that room a different steady temp from the rest of the house...we like it cool at night but the bator has dropped to 98 two nights if I dont run the heat and close the house vents but that room...as we dont want it warm in the rest of house at night!! I want a steady room so the bator is steady!! I candled a few eggs at turn tonight and see definate progress from last time!! YAY YAY YAY!!

Oh and I merged my coops today of my origional gals and roos( 2 RIR hens and 2BLRW roos) all the new ladies(4 RIRs,2BOs,1barred rock) fought for Luckys favor and preened and loved on him...soooo funny and everyone got along great...and now my Big Red is roosting with the new gals and Lucky is a tired boy from pleasing the ladies!! My roos and Lil Red are still in thier side roosting even with it open between them tonight but they mingled great!!!
