South Carolina

We're back from Barnwell and had a blast! We brought Grey (Cream Legbar) and Lily (Barnevelder) to the show and they both got first! Of course they were the only Legbar and Barnevelder there

Thank you to Amy and Kimberly and everyone else who helped and encouraged us to show chickens!

And my DS got this little surprise in the Junior Show...

I am just so excited for you guys!
Kimberly got all excited and ran to tell me and I got all excited for you and had to scream. George forgave me for messing up his Showmanship class, I am sure. It was just too wonderful for you all! Even your husband walked around with a silly grin after that. LOL Now he is a believer and probably as hooked as you all are!

The hard part is there isn't much more up you can go! LOL Every show will be an education though.

We all felt so bad when your son looked like he wanted to cry when your daughter got the participation award but I knew another great one was coming up so let him get the joy of the surprise instead of coming over to comfort him. I think he was thrilled to see he could have an award and so could his sister! Now they do not have to share.

Congratulations on an incredible first time out and fabulous, well deserved win!!!

Thank you so much Amy! If Rory can get over her stage fright, I think that next time they'll both get to enter a bird

and it was incredible that they each got to have a trophy/plaque to bring home!

It may take her a while. She is much more shy than your son, who is very outgoing! But if she sees big brother do it then she will soon be right there, too. I am excited for all of you!
Now, get some bantams so you all can show at your local show in Clemson and please think about joining the club. It helps everyone learn so much about poultry and showing.
And I am sure your son will love Showmanship, too! We may have a future poultry judge in the making!
I think once Rory meets us a lot more she will come out of her shell at shows because she knows the people. And your youngest will be the same as your son, as soon as she can enter birds. LOL

Its nice to see others from Aiken!! :) This makes me very Happy! I just started trying to hatch my first set of Chickens. Dont know how it will go but fingers crossed!! If not then I will be looking around for someone local to get eggs from!

Just set 30 White Leghorn eggs Friday. Now just have to wait to see how fertile they are. Cockerel new to this. LOL. Have 4 hens in there with him. So we will see this coming Friday when I candle them.
