Somehow I had hatching fever or something with the Guineas. I was moving them around today because they grow so darned fast and I can't keep them in a brooder tub more than a week or two so the feathered ones went out to the wire bottom brooder with some a bit older and then I moved the fuzzy keets into a bigger tub inside the brooder room.
I counted....BIG mistake. Ugh. I did not feel so bad before that. How did I wind up with almost 100? Egad! They look so little and cute!

Wow that is a lot--I hope lots of people at chickenstock want guineas!! They are SOOOOO cute though!

Oh my Amy, when all 100 sound off as teenagers, Greer will hear them. LOL but chiggers, ticks and snakes may no longer exist in your area.

100 ~ You have more than me now! I sold 50 yesterday! Not sure what I have out there now but not 100. I was so happy to see those little eaters go! I probably still have close to 60 but the last hatch finished yesterday and I am not hatching any more guineas this season. I am so tired of raising chicks and keets right now. Anyone in my area need some Coral Blue keets? I am keeping most of my Browns, a few Chocolates, a few Lavenders, and some of the nice dark Buff Dundottes but with that pen of Coral Blues we had separated we got a lot of Coral Blues. It is funny how peoples taste's have changed this season. Last year everyone wanted Coral Blues and this season people are wanting the lighter birds and Chocolates. Ok, I am rambling and I need to go feed.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and this hurricane does not bring us too much water if it comes this way....

I do not plan to keep all of these, thank goodness. However, there are quite a few that I need for breeding pens and projects so at least 30 are staying. The others I will sell. I should have someone coming today for some.

The thing is, when I sell eggs I always set some in my bator, too. So many people complain they do not get any to hatch but if mine are hatching here then I know it is the PO and not infertility. As many eggs as I sell each week I can't just open the eggs to check fertility and too, I like to see what they hatch out like.

However, there are people that complain regardless of how you package eggs. I had 2 this week complain and haven't had a complaint all year so far. Must be the weather.

One was silly enough to complain because she only had 4 to hatch out of the 12 plus 3 extras and said that was a wasted $25. LOL Oh well, don't get shipped eggs!
But then I get folks like the lady from Hawaii that bought 2 dz, had only 2 to hatch and thought that was the best thing ever! She has reordered in the hopes to get more.

I hope everyone is planning on going to the Chickenstock next month. Well, those who are in the upstate, anyhow. I am sure the ones in the lower part of the state would not want to make that far of a trip.

We have 5 weeks from today and I keep finding more and more that I can sell plus all that keeps hatching out. My pre-sales are going great and I am excited to go for the 3rd time. If you have not been, you need to plan on this one. It is fun and friendly.
When and where is this? I am in Anderson, is there a website? It sure sounds like a place I wanna be.......
