Well, if that is the case then you can always breed the pair you have and you might get some similar to them. You can pretty much tell the quality of the bird at 5 or 6 months old unless you have a late bloomer. Here is a pic of a little man with alot of potentials that ended in a tragic death. He is the son of my wht mottled cockerel I brought to the last meet up, he was close to 3 months old in this pic.....he got killed by a cat 3 days after I took this pic when I let him out in the run. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/34472_jp4_015.jpg Since you are into showing, you should concentrate on breeding for show quality birds....I know space is limited but if you pick out one variety and keep on working with them, you will achive your goal faster.
Speaking of oegb, have you dubb your boys yet????From what I remember, you don't have to dubb em if they are still cockerels but you will have to dubb them as cocks. Are you aware that BBred is one of the hardest variety to breed for correct color and one of the steepest competition at shows? I have always love the mahogany color in the spangled oegb....unable to find the quality spangled suit my taste in the past couple yrs had push me futhure a way from the breed. Hopefully I will find some in the future.
All my birds are raise in a 36x30 or smaller enclosure under a roofed patio, I built them some runs on grass for sun and dust bathing on good day. I use the 22x19 to house those with potentials for special training, the cage I took to our last meet is one of my training cage....I usually spend couple hrs a day with all my birds. You don't need a big cage for your serama. Wow, I did know this turn out this long.....I will make it short next time.
My cages & runs pics.
