I'm eyeballing some speckled sussex to put under Lovey. I'm so confused. If I had my way I'd get BCMs, Cream Legbars, some more BO...can I fit 40 eggs under a BO and a Cochin bantam?Oh no. Darn MY Broodyness!
I'm now the proud winner of show quality (yeah right) BBS Ameraucana eggs.
Well I haven't said anything 'cause I didn't want to jinx myself. 3 little Arucanas hatched on Monday. One black ,one silver and one silver/blonde. They are so funny trying to stay balanced without a tail. It looks like the silver has one tuft and the silver/blonde has one small tuft and the black is clean faced. Hopefully they will all be girls.
Just a reminder that everyone who brought birds to the Sussex showgrounds or purchased birds should do a mite check. Its right about that time that they will show up on the vent area and will appear as dirt or crust. They are microscopic and you can barely see them. We have one bird that caught mites at the show.
