Is that a baby Seabright? She looks like the one Heather gave me before she moved to Texas. Her name was Nutmeg but my son renamed her Nutjob. She's our rooster wannabe and a little "nutty"!
Sorry this was supposed to be attached to this photo. I'm new at this but I WILL get it. Lol

Good morning, she is a spitzhauben her name is Bedhead. The brown one behind her is a Russian Orloff and a salmon Fav. I went a little crazy with breeds last spring. My husband says when you walk into our back yard it looks like the bar sceen from the star wars movie . I say it's the united nations of chickens.

I enjoyed the Wall St. Journal article and was happy to think of myself as one of those chicken people! I have to admit I've often wondered what I could do to help my girls if they get sick. I mean, I was so impressed with HarborView Hens Bumblefoot operation, but it's a shame more local vets can't treat our chicken friends.

Oh my... Carol, that is rotten luck. Can you make it until October with them? The sussex show has sales cages.

I have been trying to find out on line when the Sussex county fair is and it keeps coming up as being in NJ. Can anyone please tell me where and when it is? Maybe I can make it there if it is before the 15 oct.
Thanks Pip

It's Oct 19, and the 20 is Rhode Island.

Oops, that link didn't look good... let me know if it works.

Yes it worked Roberta but unfortunately for me I can't go this year I'm having my other hip replaced... Sigh.
Once I'm up and running again I'm going to have to make some of these fairs and meet more of you ladies. Thnx for getting back to me
Did you see the pics of your girls? Oh, how's my cutie Blackie doing? I really hated having to part with him.
Cheers Pip

Well, I guess everyone needs to make plans for January at the Big E in Springfield, Mass.
The Northeast Poultry Congress.
Good luck with the surgery, you'll be fine!
Blackie is fine!

The national meet is going to be held there this year so it should be even more fun. I'll be there. If I bring home any more chickens though Richard is going to kill me.the 2 silkies that followed me home last year are just the best. Something to look forward to in the middle of winter. I can't wait
