Karen! They are gorgeous! Thank you so much! Wow! We have to get hatching eggs from them! I have them settling in now.

Roberta, thanks for bringing them up!

Carol, I hope you found a good home for your baby boys!

It was great to see everyone today. Made me feel normal for a while.

I'm glad you like them :)
I miss them. I hope they give lots of beautiful healthy babies.

My new girls from Roberta are so sweet. I was in trouble for about 15 minutes after bringing them home but the family fell in love with them fast. My mom keeps brining in Oaty (blue silkie) into the house for cuddles. I named her oatmeal because she had oatmeal on her from her breakfast, so mom runs out to the store and buys 2 giant tubs of oatmeal. Lol.
I told her they need to eat their chicken crumbles too so don't over do the treats. Grandmas /sigh.

The boys have a new home...
Made it home with out a hitch and without any new kids. It was very tempting though.
It was great seeing everyone again even if it was for a brief moment.
Loretta won a 50# bag of food at the auction..next year I'm bring any boys right over to the Chinese auction table . At least someone can make some money on them.
Tina hope you got home OK with fewer mouths to feed.
Roberta enjoy the Rhody show ,safe trip.
Christine it was great seeing you. If you need anything give me a call.

Awe, oaty, so sweet. Your babies here are in the introduction cage and everyone seems ok so far. They will go in the run today while the others range. I will leave some of the let pecking order birds in with them to make friends (my faverolles are my new bird ambadsadors).

The cream legbars are doing well. The little man has the cutest crow I have ever heard and he is sooo sweet. He fell asleep on my lap yesterday. I am hopeful that he will take over a head rooster when my barred rock retires (he is going on 8 and is just not very spry anymore, he has already let the second in command, my very submissive dark brahma, take over). With any luck the changing of the guard will happen without bloodshed and the 3 of them will find some form of peaceful co-existence. If not, the breeding pen will house a rooster and 4 hens, so one set (brahma, barred rocks, or legbars) will go in there. I just don't like to keep them in there over winter because it is harder for them to keep warm with so few of them, vs in the larger flock. Today they will range since I plan on being out in the gardens all day. They went into the coop of their own accord yesterday, so that is encouraging. I still put them in the "introduction cage" for the night so they don't get picked on before I get out there to let them all out. I will try to get some pics up here!!!

He is a sweet boy, i hope he stays that way.
I used to hold him a lot, I was crazy about him. I'm happy they have a good home. The 2 Welly Roos I had were mean they attacked our puggle. I'm glad to be rid of them.

Thank you queenchick! Coffee sounds good :) My husband was planning to run electric out to the coops but I think an extension cord is going to be The Plan. We're running low on time (as usual) unless the weather stays warmish enough for the ground not to freeze up. We have 2 coops so it will be a project to get electric out to them. He still has to enclose the run for the new coop, too. We were using a chain link kennel temporarily but we're using that as a dog kennel now....got a Rottweiler puppy on Saturday. Not that Murphy LIKES being enclosed in it or anything......ugh! Did you grow up in New Windsor?? I moved here from northern Westchester in 2003. My husband has lived in NW all his life. Nice to "meet you" ~

Here are my new children:

Hope everyone is doing well and loving this end of summer start to fall. We are off to apple pick tomorrow.

Beautiful chicks!! Craziness here too. I work for the Gov't so I was furloughed for a few weeks...tore my house apart cleaning and organizing closets and cabinets...started on the basement but that got old quick. My oldest DD got married Friday; picked up Murphy, a 12 week old Rottweiler puppy on Saturday. Finally went back to work Monday. I was close to being dangerously BORED. It's nice that things have calmed down but in my house, the peace won't last long. Glad all is well with you!
