I know this may disturb some, but I am looking forward to it. As long as I don't suffer. Oh, wait! I'm suffering now! YAY!
The chickens give me so much joy. That film shoot last week, I was crawling thru rose bushes, chasing escapees all thru the yard, getting sucked on by mosquitoes, and I didn't need any pain meds!
And then I go back to work....

Yes. The beekeeping thing is something I've been looking into, too. I have vermicomposting bins, the worms eat the junk mail, and make nice dirt for the garden. I cook almost every day, we rarely go out to eat, saving tons of money that way, and not putting chemicals in our bodies. And lately instead of eating meat too often, we have breakfast for dinner. Eggs! Where would they come from?

I was wondering how the film thing went...I was a little nervous about that. I wanted to help out, but had visions of potential news stories floating around my head.

Just as an aside, I noticed 3 or 4 of my chickens had watery poop this morning? I wonder if they were drinking like mad to cool off yesterday? I know it wasn't really hot, but it was quite a bit warmer than the 50's at night that we had last week. There is no blood in it or any other symptoms. they are acting like their normal selves.... Any thoughts? I have looked at the poop chart..it looks like the watery specimen.

Morning poop is a little different than the rest of the day poop. Wait a little while, and check again.

And the film shoot went well! Very interesting to see how it all goes together, shoud be about a year til we see it, tho. Weather held out, the girls behaved like angels, Veras white Leghorn is the star, but as all stars go, she gets killed.
Maybe this is the start of a different career for me. Stoopids animal talent agency. HAH!

You need to stop it right now. My poor EE looked like a drowned rat. She doesn't like to go in the coop because my much larger RR girls give her a hard time. Any one wanna make a prediction on this winters weather?

I already did, and it ain't pretty. I think you'll be fitting diapers for all your house chickens, 'cause they aren't wanting to stay outside.

too muddy to be out there too much but...I'm planning on checking out the poo before I shower for dinner....
