Two- boy and girl or two girls? Or how about 2 boys? 4 boys? Betcha I got more than that!
Pleeze? How about next time someone calls me CFG, they win a FREE rooster?

OK, gonna go outside and look for 2 girls, and tag them so I don't screw this one up.

I took the big chicks out on a field trip when I got home from work. I put them in the crate we had been using for the kitten. Lavinia promptly went through the bars and started walking around in the yard. I scooped her up and put the chick bra back into service. She fell asleep on my chest while I sat in a chair and hand-fed the old girls.

Ooh. Roberta's handing out chickens again. BCMs, hmmmm....

Let's see. 6 in the henhouse, 4 in the brooder. 2 more from the hatch on 5/25. That's 8 right? We might have room for one more.

Actually, I was looking at Exchequer Leghorn eggs for hatching last night. I think I'm attracted to good layers with great plumage. Chickens, I mean.

My sister in law just called to ask if there was a lost and found chicken place she could go. It appears her friend living on Horizon Lane in Levittown has had a hen walking around her yard for the past few days. She's posted pics on facebook and it sounds like maybe a rhode Island red. Sounds like a well taken care of chicken as it jumped in her lap when she sat on her chair. She is currently locked in her garage with some food (not appropriate chicken feed though) and water.

Anyone know if any levittown people on here that keep chickens? The woman who has her is Sue Maran and her number is 516-306-8830. I suggested she walk around the neighborhood and ask people if they know who she might belong to. If they can't find the owner, anyone willing to take her in? She's friendly, appears to be healthy and clean. She wanted to take her to WHite post farms but I don't think they take good care of their chickens there.

I don't know much about chickens, but it looks more like a Golden Comet than a RIR. She looks like my Shirley. My best layer - huge brown eggs. No white in Rhodies?

On a cautiously good note, Zen the silkie seems to be doing better today. His head looks straighter, and he even took some treats from me today.

My other girls are all almost feathered, big, and sweet. I'm hoping they can get outside for the day in their new pen by Sunday!
