Well, we got the first part of the run expansion done. It adds 20+ feet to the run area. We're going to put the coop on top so there's space under the coop and to each side. The area under the coop isn't high enough and Gladys gets agitated being under there. This will boost the area 2 feet up and gives a straight 10 foot area for her to hang out in. There will be a 2 foot square area that will be fenced to a height of about 5 feet so she can roost high up when she's in there. Plenty of room for the babies too. My boyfriend is great about it. We were up and out by 9 this morning to pick up supplies.

Gladys was a hoot. While we were working, she kept coming up to us, real close, like she wanted to inspect the workmanship. Bobby's going to try to train her as his apprentice!

While we were out there, I saw the neighborhood hawk fly over. It landed in some trees not far from us, so we kept Gladys close. It kept calling, so Gladys has been keeping a low profile. I left the dog out with her for awhile. In the coop early, that's for sure!

Yeah. I think that's part of the problem. Uh oh, I feel an attack of chicken math coming on. Maybe I should get 1 (or maybe 2) older chickens to keep Gladys company?? If they look the same it won't count, right?

There were times when we could have used a trailer ourselves. Lots of goodies there.

So far no evidence of ninja activity.

I was so proud of myself, got some garbage from the basement into bags this weekend. And today is a holiday. Gotta look at it for a few more days!
Of course after I TOLD DH today was Columbus day, when I left for work, the garbage it at the end of the driveway. DUH.
