Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Doggie + Chickie = luve. Or at least tolerance as long as the treats keep coming.

My brother in law told me that Williams Sonoma now sells chicken coops guys - Williams Sonoma! It's official we are now all yuppies.

Of course they also sell crazy fancy canning jars and bee skeeps if you want to try your hand at that for ten minutes as well.

Yes, ripe all right!

I believe they're also selling beehives, kombucha kits and other things.

Ah. I love the sound of chickens in the morning! As great as the trip was, it's nice to be home. I missed ALL of my girls - Laura the daughter, Clara the dog, and of course all the poultry. Even my little roo!

Looking for a couple juvenile hens..preferably black copper Moran, blue Easter egger, or welsummer.... Any breeders in lower ny? I'm in upper westchester.
Thanks! Sandi
Running Duck Farms aka the Zanders that designed that solar moving coop have some hens. You can try to get in touch with them through their website, Front Yard Coops - don't know the URL I usually just put it in Google. You can also try Bennie's Feed Barn in Bedford, sometimes people put listings up there when they have something to sell. Apparently people also use Craig's list although I haven't tried it. I'm in lower Westchester myself.

Welcome to our thread!

Oh that is SO cute!!!

Williams Sonoma! I love that place. (Window shopping-I can't afford to walk in) my husband likes to think he's rich and bought me a marble rolling pin there-they charge by the pound apparently. He also ticked the woman who works there off..
Husband: I need a marble rolling pin
Woman: Oh, of course, is this a gift?
Husband: Yes for my wife
Woman: Oh! is she a serious baker?
Husband: No, actually, she likes to have fun at it
Woman: *weird stare, no smile*
Husband: rolling pins???

Ok, maybe only I find him funny, but I guess that's why we've lasted 18 years so far...

I've been spending almost all day everyday PACKING! I got a reservation at Hither Hills Campground starting this Sunday! It's our absolute favorite. I'd move to Montauk in a NYC second if I could. I'm so excited, packing and cooking and freezing, and packing more...the camper is going to weigh 15K pounds by the time I'm done, and my truck will go on strike. My neighbor will be watching my chickens, evil cockatiel and the cat, my BFF will be babysitting for my shepherd, she's sure to come home 5 pounds heavier with a bad habit of sleeping on the couch, since he spoils her terribly, and my Maltese is staying at my daughters BFF's house, since they have cats, and Angel LOVES cats. (They are more her size)
This morning I'm going to Walmart, Bj's and then home to cook and freeze more dinners to take with us. My boys have become pack mules to carry everything out to the camper. I don't know why they're complaining. I have to UNpack things into the cabinets and it's HOT in there! it has A/C, but honestly, I only use it on hot nights to sleep-it is camping after all!!

On another note, my Bloodwork came back from the Dr, I'm dehydrated, but other than that-I'm healthy. Well, my blood is healthy. She'd like me to go for a routine Echo, but that will have to wait until I get back-no appointments until 2 weeks from now.

Oh I wish we were already out there, and on the beach-tomorrow will hit 99...ew. Anyone else have any plans for the weekend or next week?

A better picture........
Gunnar your Roo is just beautiful! Lovely, lovely. I wish I could keep at least one rooster, they are so gorgeous. Maybe one day. I might have to buy some fantails from you one of these days too, they are so pretty.

Yes, Williams Sonoma has that fermented tea kit as well as the coop, I just can't help but wonder how many people are really going to go ahead and buy their agrarian supplies through WS. Reminds me of the crazy rich woman I saw in Greenwich buying chick supplies and heat lamps and trying to color coordinate the cage with her home's decor. I wanted to ask her if she really knew how much poop chickens produce and if she was ok with that, lol. The clerks assured me that she'd probably be back in about 3 weeks trying to return it all and look for someone to rehome all the chicks.
