Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Those are beautiful quilts. In addition to my recent chicken hobby, I started quilting a couple of years ago and really enjoy it. I'm still in the learning stage so I hope someday my quilts look as beautiful as yours. Eileen

Oh that is SO cute!!!

Williams Sonoma! I love that place. (Window shopping-I can't afford to walk in) my husband likes to think he's rich and bought me a marble rolling pin there-they charge by the pound apparently. He also ticked the woman who works there off..
Husband: I need a marble rolling pin
Woman: Oh, of course, is this a gift?
Husband: Yes for my wife
Woman: Oh! is she a serious baker?
Husband: No, actually, she likes to have fun at it
Woman: *weird stare, no smile*
Husband: rolling pins???

Ok, maybe only I find him funny, but I guess that's why we've lasted 18 years so far...

I've been spending almost all day everyday PACKING! I got a reservation at Hither Hills Campground starting this Sunday! It's our absolute favorite. I'd move to Montauk in a NYC second if I could. I'm so excited, packing and cooking and freezing, and packing more...the camper is going to weigh 15K pounds by the time I'm done, and my truck will go on strike. My neighbor will be watching my chickens, evil cockatiel and the cat, my BFF will be babysitting for my shepherd, she's sure to come home 5 pounds heavier with a bad habit of sleeping on the couch, since he spoils her terribly, and my Maltese is staying at my daughters BFF's house, since they have cats, and Angel LOVES cats. (They are more her size)
This morning I'm going to Walmart, Bj's and then home to cook and freeze more dinners to take with us. My boys have become pack mules to carry everything out to the camper. I don't know why they're complaining. I have to UNpack things into the cabinets and it's HOT in there! it has A/C, but honestly, I only use it on hot nights to sleep-it is camping after all!!

On another note, my Bloodwork came back from the Dr, I'm dehydrated, but other than that-I'm healthy. Well, my blood is healthy. She'd like me to go for a routine Echo, but that will have to wait until I get back-no appointments until 2 weeks from now.

Oh I wish we were already out there, and on the beach-tomorrow will hit 99...ew. Anyone else have any plans for the weekend or next week?
I wish you great weather for your camping trip Rosie!

We're takiong it easy this weekend. Just got in from our morning beach walk and it is high noon and HOT out there in the sun. Geez louise..........tomorrow will be scary. Can't wait for rain and 80 degree days next week.

Stay cool peoples!

That is too funny, I would have laughed! I enjoy Williams Sonoma as a gift, i.e., people that don't know what to buy for me usually buy me expensive vanilla or pancake batter from there. I shop at Home Goods instead, half as much $$.

I am jealous of your vacation, sounds like a dream. Also very glad that your blood work is better, but please pack extra pedialyte with you just in case. I think we are going to see Brave and then Spider Man and any other movie I can think of until the heat wave is over.

All things at Williams Sonoma can be found at Marshalls/TJMaxx..... I have gotten All Clad pans, Le Creuset dutch ovens, even a Shun chefs knife from TjMaxx all at discounted prices. I like getting the Williams Sonoma catalog, but never buy from it.
ANYWAYS, I am looking for a pygmy goat doe.... PM me if you 'know a guy'.

Oh we all desperately want to see Brave!! My sons want to see Spiderman, and my daughter and I want to see Magic Mike (ok, listen, I've been married a long time-eye candy is a good thing...LOL) She likes Channing Tatum (eh, too young) and I like Matthew McConaughey- (Yummm juuuust right) (I'm a law breaker) might drop the boys in one theater and we'll go to the other since I've almost had my full share of Spiderman. My middle son was obsessed to the point of us worrying we'd find him glued to a wall or ceiling or spreading yarn around the house to trap us and eat us. This also may be the reason for my oldest sons arachnophobia.

I love Home Goods-we have one a few towns over and I have been banned from there by my family. It seems I lose all track of time and money....

I saw one yesterday on craigslist-2 does and 2 wethers. But I think they're out here by me. They said not a good milk line though. I'll find the ad.

You keep PIGEONS??? My dad used to raise them on our roof when we lived in The Bronx when I was a kid. We always had babies in the house, I ADORE pigeons! I'd love to have some, but it's so hard to find them around here. We have wild doves around sometimes, but not the same.

OK so my son and husband came home with an iPad for me yesterday. It is a lot of fun.I have never had a new computer, always someone's hand me down.

Everyone please stay hydrated.
I wish I was going camping. I'm going up to visit with my family tomorrow .Going to have a BBQ at a lake on West Point property. Don't know if my 86 year old mom should be sitting out in this weather but she is insisting .

Sunday they all want to go into NYC. again in a heat wave I don't think so. Me trying to keep 8 adults and 6 kids rounded up. No way.

Oh, you're in Long Island? I went to a huge pigeon auction/sale in Staten Island last month...... where on Long Island? If you aren't out in Suffolk County, than The Staten Island Auction wouldn't be too far. I could meet you there if you want and show you around, seeing as how I get on the train for free...... just a thought. Oh the goat has a baby with it! awwwwwwww I want it! I am trying to sell some of my pigeons, if you are interested. thanks for showing me the post.

I sent you a PM.I just saw magic mike and it was not quite what I expected. Depending on your daughters age, you may want to read some reviews. In the "old days" this probably would have been xrated.
:/
Just wanted to let you know so you can make your own decision.
