I was wondering the same thing! He's been gone a few weeks already! I hope everything is ok, and he's having a great summer.
I believe he's at a Bible Camp until next week or so. Or maybe he got grounded from the internets again.

Kids!

Suzanne, for what it's worth, I don't think they meant to hurt your feelings when they said what they did. I would make It known that it did bother you and that you are a sensitive person, if they don't already know that. A little reinforcement may make them think before they speak.
Hey, we know you to be a warm, caring and sensitive person. You have to be with the way you care for your chickens and family. Plus, you've got a great sense of humor. So, don't get down and depressed. You've got some time off with unemployment. Make the best of it. As in all things in life, you take what you want and leave the rest behind. Leave the hurt and depressing feelings behind and grasp onto the positive and cheery. The sun is shining right now, and it's the start of a brand new day.

Thanks for the kind words Al. I guess it's a lot of things. A let down from vacation and the stress of the wedding. Also, my cousin has a history of cutting me down because she's jealous of certain things. A very loooonnngg story.

Another part of it is that one of the kids who drowned in the July 4th boating accident here on the Island was a student at my school. One of my colleagues was her teacher and I knew the little girl. She was so sweet! So I have to go to the wake tomorrow. Last year a little boy in my school died at Boy Scout camp. There's been so much tragedy in my town lately. Five teenagers have overdosed in six weeks. Now this.

But, Al, you're right. The sun is shining and I have NOWHERE to be today. We're gonna clean up a little around here. But first, Bobby's taking me out to breakfast. I talked to him about how I felt. He got it, like 80%, which for him is pretty good!

I've been wondering about Caleb also. I know he was away until 6/26, but since then, I don't know. Oh yeah, and Bobby's giving me his ipad when he gets his new one. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I have a hard time with touchpads. Must be because I'm such a cold person!

Bobby got 80% of it? There's hope for the male of the species, yet! And we need all the help we can get.

All those kids involved in those tragedies is very sad. And the one that hits close to home and heart has to be a rough one. I can understand not feeling your jolly self.

You're going to love the iPad. Just put your hands under Bobby's armpits for a minute or two. That'll warm 'em up! LOL. Keep smilin' :)

That is ALOT of tragedy for one town to deal with. My SIL lives in Floral Park and they had that family killed on the Taconic Parkway. My SIL is close friends with the girls mom. What a nightmare.

if you know what your cousin does and why she does it-just make like a duck and let it roll off your back. Angry, nasty jealous people are rarely worth listening too, nor is it worth taking their comments seriously.

Wow. Suzanne, so sorry to hear about those three kids, so sad and so avoidable by the sounds of it. One of the families lived in Huntington?

We were away at the Jersey Shore for the week. Had an awesome time. Despite my sunblock and use of an umbrella, my skin got burnt to a crisp and I now have a leather handbag chest, courtesy of Mr. (or Mrs. Sun).

Here is a little video I took of my daughter and her cousins learning how to surf. Their teacher who was a lifeguard was the cutest and sweetest guy. I felt like quite the cougar standing there watching them everyday! My daughter is the first one in the video. I made the video on my iphone.

Stay cool everyone!

That was GREAT!!!! What beach were you at?

My first DH was a surf bum.lolol. All our friends were from Hawaii, Cali and Austrailia way back when. Grog's Surf Palace was the place to go for your boards and gear down in Sea Side.
Nice they were using the long boards to show them the ropes.
Hang Ten!!

Thanks!

My husband's entire extended family has stayed at OB3 for the past 40 years or so. We rented a bungalow for the week. It was sooo nice. Water was incredible. Calm, clear and warm with no jellyfish. My husband and I were able to swim everyday for some really great open water swims. Usually I'm a bit scared swimming in the ocean. Always afraid I'll get caught in a crazy rip current or something stupid like being bitten or attacked by a shark but the water was so clear, at least I could see if something was coming at me. LOL!

I will miss it! Maggie has a small board she got for Christmas this past year but the long board was waaay easier as you know. Wish I was younger or in better shape at least so I could learn too! So many good looking young dudes!
