Since DH hasn't been so active with the broken shoulder, now his kidney stones are bothering him.
I will be working outside today pulling weeds.

Maggie, if it's a good looking roo, I'd be interested.
Clyde just never got his feathers back after he got beat up, and I'm not crazy about his replacement...

Thank you for these sweet photos! Tina

More eye candy.

OK roberta. you know marans right? these are from pure, different varieties of marans in a pen all together. What does this cutie look to be? I have another with darker colors but certainly not black coloring. Just so pretty in browns and tans.

And then 2 which are black and white.

I have 3 Polish, 2 white crested and I don' t know what you call the other one[black and red all over] I think they are all Roos They are about 8 weeks old Iwill have to rehome the roos when I know for sure.

Do you have pics of the roos? I'm re-homing our gorgeous WC blue polish roo to a young lady in Pennsylvania who is working on a polish project. She may be interested in your little guys. I know she is looking for an adult gold polish rooster at this time. Oh, and btw my hubby and I are also 55.... hence the rule no more playing and getting hurt with the little kids. ;)

Interesting short story: Went out 4PM to a new peep crying in distress in the coop area. My little 6 lb affenpinscher named Dory alerted me indoors.....as she is all for chicken protection. Hysterical as they are larger than she is by far. But she has the momma thing going on and always cared about them when in distress.

I run out and find 1 peep hasn't found her way back into the coop after all the rest for nite time and is screaming. I open the pen gate, Dory rushes in....and I am trying to graB PEEP UP FROM CORNER, 2 OF THE BROODY MAMAS CORNER dORY AND BEGIN TO FLOG HER. Opps caps, sorry.

Well I rescue the peep...then dory................ and sat back in amazement at the ferocity those 2 hens had for Dory who they already know since they hatched. Amazing how the animal kingdom works isn't it?
