Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

OK, hoping I did this right.
OH oh oh, I am so jealous! Gorgeous Polish! Love them. Maybe once the White Rock and the Delaware pass on I will build a gentle, kind flock of breeds that would otherwise get picked on. So so pretty.....

We went to Members Night at the Bronx Zoo last night and met a fellow bird nerd by the pheasant cages. Very nice Indian family from upstate NY. He told me he had Golden Pheasants, Peacocks, Polish Hens, Silkies, some other pheasants.... I can only imagine what their yard sounds like come dawn! Oh and Donna I had my Bird Nerd shirt on and referred at least two folks to your site. I'm thinking I have to make up some cards to have handy to give out when I wear that shirt from now on.

Your coop came out beautifully! Was it hard to lift it? Im a little confused though, are those solid glass windows on the front?

Crap. He found his way home.

And now the anesthesia is wearing off from where I had the suspicious mole removed from my leg (part 2). Who knew a little spot like that could hurt so much? Actually, part 1 was a little spot. No idea how big part 2 is. Although it did involve stitches and apparently I will have a scar.

I paid a big stack of small ignored bills (doctor copays) today and found a letter from my radiologist that says the mammogram I have scheduled for tomorrow is a follow-up to an abnormal screening 6 months ago. SHIrT, I forgot that. I made the appointment because my doctor told me I was supposed to, but I forgot they were waiting to see if anything bad was happening. So I guess instead of worrying for 6 months, I only have to worry for about 12 hours. Good plan!! (I tend not to worry about stuff like that, which is how I forgot about it. I mean, I do the tests and everything, but don't sweat the outcome.)

I even filled out the application for new health insurance. I just have to wait for a statement from unemployment showing how much I'll be getting. Such a productive day!

Hey wait, I didn't hear about the lady who was gonna take my LS babies.

Friends don't let friends grow zucchini without checking on them regularly.....

children aged 1 - 5 included for perspective:
That is hysterical!

I found a zuc deep in my garden 2 days ago and it must weight 3 lbs. So today I made a delicious casserole from it alone and it's almost gone already!Add cheese to anything and the boys will eat it.

You just crack me up Siuzanne.
Don't fret the mammo.....I had a call back 2 X and it was routine stuff. Although I crapped my pants every time they sent me the notices of recall.

Okay, you two have to stop with the zucchini. My plant apparently has a calcium deficiency, which is causing the zucchini to rot on the vine before reaching maturity. I gave the plant a healthy dose of eggshell, but I don't know if it will help.

I have almost as much luck with zucchini as I do with hatching...

You have some nice silkies going on Tina. :thumbsup

Thank you very much...I got those fluffy silkies and the 2 polish from a nice breeder in Maryland, the week after Mothers Day. A week or so later, I bought 3 pure black silkie (bl x bl) chicks from a breeder in Pennsylvania. I traveled to Virginia twice in one month and managed to convince my husband to drive out of our way to pick up the chicks for our daughter. I'm trying hard to get some nice quality chicks for my daughter (and me too :)). Obtaining good stock seems to be a bit like trying to pull teeth!

Lindsey wants to show and breed, but I'm not sure if breeding is what I am up to doing. We are trying to keep under the radar with our chickens, and having several roosters for breeding pens may be a problem. I recently looked into buying some show quality pullets.....but the price is between $100-$150 per bird. Yikes! So, I'm looking into buying an incubator and hatching eggs instead.

BTW, I just saw your YouTube video and LOVED it! How neat to be featured in that clip! It is really nice to see how much you care for your birds.
Tina
