It's just too hot and humid today! I was outside for an hour watering chickens and roses....and came inside drenched in sweat. Got ready to take a shower and it started to thunder. I skipped the shower and plan to stay in the living room with a/c for the rest of the day.Does it seem these temps and weather are making your garden go crazy? I have so many tomatoes and it's only Mid July! My plants look like Decorated Christmas trees!! My Pepper plants are literally falling over from the weight of all the peppers!
My girls have all dug themselves holes under the huge forsythia bush out my back door, and they all stay there until I walk out with a treat.
Today I have to go to Ridge to pick up free Mohair yarn I found on Freecycle, then pick up my son from Football conditioning training, then buy more hay and chicken feed then clean the coop and hen house. The BCMs seem to be having a moult. There's black feathers everywhere! I'm considering collecting the nice ones and making jewelry with them. They are really pretty, and teenage girls love that stuff. I hope to be done with all of this by noon, but it seems in the heat I'm moving in slow motion.
In the last two years our school athletic league adopted a rule that if the RealFeel on AccuWeather is 95 degrees or higher...games will be stopped and no practices will be held. Too many problems for the kids with dehydration and heat strokes etc. Sounds like your school league should adopt the same rules.
