Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Congratulations, Tina.  Did you hand out cigars?  :gig

You are TOO funny!

Thanks again everyone for your good wishes. I'm moving out of the cranky, achy phase slowly... but surely.

On Saturday, if I am feeling up to par, I'll be riding along with my husband to take our son back to Kings College in Wilkes Barre, PA. I really wish I could meet folks at the DC fair, but looks like I wont make it this year.

I have a thought... why don't you all consider coming up my way for the Sheep and Wool festival this fall? People fly in from all parts of the country to attend this event. They have classes, workshops etc and it's fun and family oriented. If anyone is interested, we have lots of time to plan a meetup. Oh, and the Walkway over the Hudson River should have spectacular views of the changing leaves!

Tina Why did I think that was in the Spring? Do they have one then also? I have to check the dates , I'll be up.

The Sheep an wool festival is Oct. 20 and 21. Friends have gone in the past and say it is great. If nothing else comes up Tina I'll be there.
My girls finished off a bag of pork rinds I found in the cabinet left over from my sons visit. The other white meat.

I adore the Walkway over the Hudson! I'm scared of heights, but if I don't go too close to the edge, I can do it. My brother lives in Saugerties and we always spend Thanksgiving with him. That's how we found it. We stayed in a beautiful b&b in Highland.

I can probably do the Sheep and Wool Festival. Sounds cool.

Carol, can we do another road trip??

My girls just finished off some frozen manicotti I found in the freezer last night. I thawed it (no sauce) and they went bonkers for it. So cute with cheese all over their beaks.

ROAD TRIP

While in California we walked over the. Golden Gate Bridge. Neither my son nor husband liked it.

I don't know Suzanne, I might have to put you in restraints to keep you from coming home with more wool yarn than your trunk can hold! Lol

That does sound beautiful though, I hope we could do it.

Just so everyone knows... the sussex county poultry fanciers fall show is also Oct 20 and 21. It is a 2 day show this year because they are hosting Jersey Giants National show. Just an FYI.

Good Morning everyone!

Gearing up and getting ready for the Dutchess County Fair. My daughter is a 4-Her and will be showing her pony Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Friday there. I am SO excited to head to the chicken barn once we are set up, and look at all the beautiful chickens there. Will take on a whole new meaning for me this year!

Is anyone from this thread showing or going to be there? Just wondering, and if you all have any tips on what to look for, or any special breeds that one might never see on a daily basis.

Good Luck to everyone on BYC who are or have kids showing in the vaious county and state fairs this summer!

Ciao,
