When I first read this, I thought it said "lobsters", then I thought it said "roasters". Must be dinnertime...
I just rat-proofed the coop (temporarily) and put some more poison under it. Little bastards.
Bobby just called and asked if I missed him. I told him "Of course." (I lied.) I had a great day and got a lot of things done. Including some very helpful conversations with bureaucrats. Go figure.
Turkeys, huh?
All hail the queen of produce!! That looks awesome! Beautiful peppers! My beans are the same though, everywhere and then some. I found a stray vine going up into the pine tree! I gave away 2lbs of tomatillos, 1lb string beans, assorted cukes, okra & tomatoes today and a half-dozen eggs to the back-yard neighbors. Plus I FINALLY canned some tomato sauce - got 9 pints full! It was much easier than I thought it would be. Really looking forward to cracking those open in the winter now as opposed to fearing the Florida tomatoes in the grocery store. I also made grape/plum jam since I had a ton of each - ended up with 8 cups of jam too. The girls and their friend enjoyed licking the froth off the spoon once it cooled. I felt very Laura Ingalls Wilder today - then we went out for supper, lol.

I just saw this and what struck me was how quickly the birds all died without power. My hens don't need life support. Think about this the next time you're tempted to buy the bonus mega pack of chicken at the grocery store.

Factory farming sucks.
I hope you guys do get your own turkeys and that you eat that for a celebration instead of something that has lived a sad little existence in a metal hangar.
