I didn't get to Brians, but after I drop my son at football, I've GOTTA get there (um, one day of dog food left...

I always manage to wait until the very last minute) I'll price check everything. I can also ask about a group discount, if anyone wants to go in on a large quantity.

Today I have so much to do and no time to do it. In addition, my middle son is kinda achy and a little feverish, so looks like a before the first day of school illness. (of COURSE it is!)

My little guy had a scrimmage last night, and I have to say-7 year olds are funny and quite polite on the football field. My son was on defense, the kid he was blocking was EASILY twice his size. Well, my son was blocking him, which translates to "I'll push, you, you push me, until the play is over" well, the big kid takes one hand, and shoves my son to the floor, (which is what an Offensive lineman is supposed to do somewhat-the Jets could learn something from this kid) Well, he then gives my son a hand standing up, waits until my son has fixed himself into position, then they start pushing each other again.OMG-every parent was hysterical.

I have so much cleaning to do, my house looks like a scene from "hoarders", I can't believe the piles of stuff all over the place. I need to get all the too small clothing out of the attic, and give it away, then I can fit more stuff in storage. Does anyone need boys clothes, size 4,5 or 6? I would rather someone gets some good use out of this stuff-some of it is still rather new!

What are everyone's holiday weekend plans? I am supposed to go to a BBQ tonight, but if my son is sick, guess who's not going anywhere. It's actually ok, since my husband got OT tonight, so I'd be going alone anyway, and it's in Deer park-45 minutes or more from me.

The girls were complaining to me this morning, I was a few minutes late to unlock the henhouse-they want to get up at the crack of dawn. I, on the other hand prefer to wait until I have had a full cup of coffee. I tried explaining-they didn't want to hear it.
Too cute! At least they both have good manners.

If you're looking to get rid of stuff I suggest trying freecycle.org - there's a Westchester branch, there's got to be on for LI too. Less crazy people than Craig's List, more moms and environmentalists. I've disposed of all my maternity & newborn stuff through them and the recipients are always so grateful. I also got some really nice shelves from people too.

I love free cycle! That's where I got all my mohair yarn. I've given a lot of stuff away on there, I just figured heck I'd try here first! Mostly people look for infant stuff and I'm waaaaaaaay out of that stuff! ( thank goodness!) My son seems to be coming down with something and now my throat is starting to hurt so I'm laying low. Brian's prices are expensive too. $19. and change for 50 pounds. I'm going to look into a large shipment from somewhere, we may be able to save shipping too if we catch a sale! I agree on all counts!!!!

The bright fresh red is just lovely, really, makes it just zing. And think how happy everyone will be in the wintertime too!

Mags your silkies are honkin' adorable. At 6 I am finally, full-up, but you know what my next one will be when there is space, heh, hehe....

Heather, I just checked my chicken math textbook and silkies don't count!

Okay, so before I went out to do doody duty this morning, I went into the kitchen to feed Clara and there on the fridge was a flyer from Stormville Flea Market. I yelled into Bobby "It's a Stormville weekend!"

We were out the door in 20 minutes and just got back. I'm beat. Took a shower and now it's nap time.

Gotta love Stormville...

I got a really interesting antique plate and a chicken spinner thingie for the yard. And some of us have to BUY zucchini, so I got that and some peaches. Plus of course, apple cider donuts. So grateful to Al for telling me about them. I should just apply them right to my hips. They didn't even make it outta the parking lot!

Just finished making a peach pie for Laura. She had a tough day at work, poor baby. I

So you guys have your yarn addictions, I have to admit to my stalking ebates.com until there are great sales. Went a little nuts on Gardner's Supply just now and spent nearly $40 on worms for the compost heap.... please tell me that's not insane, right? But my compost is just not looking very compost-y. I need to add more wet stuff, like grass clippings, I think. I wet them down last night and covered the most finished heap with a tarp. I should go check to see if that helped at all first, I guess.

Tomorrow night is last night at the beach club and last fireworks for the year until July 4th next year. Looking forward to it but so sad summer is ending too. My brain is having a hard time computing leaves falling and snow drifts just yet.

I am however thinking apple picking.... yum......
