Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Wow. You spend one day babysitting without the computer and look what you miss!!

Roberta, I can't do the Queens Fair on Saturday because I have certification exams, but I might try to get there Sunday. That means I can help transport birds back home, if need be.

I'm delivering birds to NJ and Westbury and Hauppauge over the next few days. But that's nothing like the contortions you all are going through!

I think we should all share the cost of one of those big poultry trucks. I can live in it when they take away my house, and we can use it to schlepp all those roosters all over creation.

Funny... I was just thinking about that truck myself

I am not near my new smarter-than-me phone, but I'm pretty sure I still have your number.
Just let me know how many passes to try to get for you.

In case anyone is interested, I also have a super sweet recessive white EO cockeral, also with white legs and a very very friendly too grey but nicely speckled cockeral with willow legs, so if you need an extremely friendly pet or a general flock rooster, he's the one.

I didn't realize this thread was here!

Hey Hi Hello All! Welcome to our crazy slice of Suburban NY! Hope you can hang out with us, always looking for new friends to unload roosters on... he he....

I had a weird experience this past week where a film scout stopped by and asked if we'd be interested in letting our house be used as a set for a Jerry Bruckheimer tv series. Jerry Bruckheimer of CSI: Big Boobies and similar type movies. They liked the front of the house but the uhrm, small-scale farm in the back and the chicken coop seemed to perplex them. I do not think chicken poop is in the script, really.

Now if they were filming a remake of Northern Exposure but setting it here, then I might get a call-back. As it is, they left today with a sort of, "Don't call us, we'll call you" parting. Fine by me, keeping the house neat for that long was like sucking in your gut for a photo. The clutter explosion has already reemerged, there is a basket of string beans, tomatillos, okra, etc. on the counter and that is okay-dokay.

I didn't know it was Sunday as well. I have the little one's princess birthday party fest to plan/run/manage on Saturday but maybe might be able to come on Sunday. Then again we might have family birthday dinner etc so who knows. We'll play by ear.

Love the poultry truck idea. I saw one of those decorating shows on tv where a couple that lived on a houseboat had a coop attached to the back. Chickens on a boat! You could do something really creative with just a Dodge sprinter van even. Look at those crazy things people make for their cats out of cardboard boxes and such.
