Would you believe that we were robbed today? I am actually sitting at my dining room table while my hubby is with the police officer taking pictures. The robbers tried to get in the back door but couldn't, so they went around front and kicked in the steel reinforced door. It broke open the deadlock. By looking at the house, you couldn't tell they were even here. They went into my dresser drawers, stole jewelry and replaced items back exactly where they were...so at first glance it looked like normal.

What a disappointment!

OMG! What is going on? That is the same exact thing that happened to us a few months ago (during the Sandy Blackout). That sucks. I am so sorry that you are going through that. Hopefully they will find some finger prints.

Thanks for your note.The police dusted but weren't able to pick up any prints. I'm glad that no one was here, and no one got hurt. But I'm really disappointed that jewelry from my grandmother (from the 1930's, 40's and 50's) was taken and also some jewelry from my mom (1950's, 60's and 70;s). I cant replace those memories.

Tina , I am so sorry. Ours was robbed in 2006. It was the last day of high school for my son and he came home to find it.it looked like a war zone. The cops showed up 3 hrs and 20 minutes later 'cause he told them no one was injured.they left through the back door where our one dog was gated and he must have given them trouble. Them left abag of rat poison down for him that they found in the basement cabinet.first time in his whole life that he decided he was not hungry.
I feel so terrible for you and your husband.give each other a real tight hug.thank god no was in the house and you are safe.

That is just so awful, they rob you and then try and poison the dog, UGH!
