It was great meeting you too, Maggie. But all the way home I was wondering if you should treat her for cocci instead.
If she doesn't show any improvement by say, tomorow night, switch to the Amprol.

She's doing a good job drinking and even eating a bit tonight. I crumbled up some tea biscuit and she jumped right on ot. She is getting so so thin........she isn't likimng oatmeal/raosons or even cheese.
I will take your advice and wait till tomprrow nite and give it a chance.
I can add the vitamins to her water along with her rx/meds correct? Just making sure.........

That article is off base...research is often skewed in favor of whoever provides funding. This appears to have been funded by some entity not in favor of backyard flocks. grrrrr

Our birds sometimes eat better than I do since I'm always on the run.

It says to not use the probiotics with antibiotics.
Use them afterwards to get the gut healthy again.

Vitamins.. I wouldn't mix them in the same water. If you're treating for cocci, no vitamins should be given at all as it can interfere. I'm too tired to recall the details, but it's not a good idea. I would put ACV on her food, maybe make a mash out of her feed and put it in that so that her water can be just for the meds? I hope this helps. I can't stand when birds are sick. It just isn't right.

Okay, this Michaels thing has to stop. This evening Bobby wanted to go to Home Depot and I didn't want to go, so he dropped me at Michaels. Um, WHY????

I did pick up a couple of Christmas presents and also at Bed Bath and Beyond, but yikes. More yarn! They need to stop sending me coupons. I guess I can always crochet a new house when they foreclose on this one. Ack.

On a side note, one of the women in the Fall crochet swap had to drop out because of a family emergency and we decided to send her our squares anyway. She posted the most beautiful note to thank us. What a great group of people chicken lovers are!!

I got another lead for a tutoring student. Called today, but no response yet. Two other leads seem to have dried up. But I'm still plugging away at marketing....

I think I'm going to write some adventures for Mrs. Cuddlesworth. When Donna becomes rich and famous, maybe I can tag along!

I love Sundays because I give the coop a thorough cleaning and I feel good knowing everything is shipshape for the girls. And Big Ben.

And Heather, consider the 16th booked. In pen!

Hi everyone! Back from another trip to California, this time I was ther to assess the competency of a 160 students. What fun it is. I don't mind the practicals, but proctoring 8 hours of written exams in one day is less than thrilling. I can finally get to the christmas shopping and baking. We should do a cookie swap sometime. I make 12 dozen of 12 different kinds of cookies every year (I am the keeper of Grandma's recipes and the baking falls to me for the entire family...lol).

Good grief that's not bakoing.....thats opening a temporary bake shop.

I make mini baked breads for my baskets....you know....banana-nut......cranberry etc. I could eat them sliced/toasted with cream cheese on top till the chickens come home.

then it's up 1 size of jeans for the rest of the holiday season.
