Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Any colors would work for him. His wife is crazy for the 2 I gave them and now has the "evil silkie addiction" we all seem to get after trying just one.
I myself would buy 2 as well. I love buff, matches my hair. lol But any colors aside from white (got 2 already)
A friend of mine lost her only silkie to old age and needs a pullet. Any color would do. Consider 6 total sold if you got extras. I could actually sell a barrel full of silkies for anyone needing to sell girls. Everyone around here wants them as they are easier to keep in yards. I wish I could breed them.

I have 4 silkies, and it's funny that when counting up my chickens-they don't count. My oil guy thought I had kittens in a pen. LOL! I'm addicted to their muppet-like looks, and sweet personalities.

MAGGIE I HAVE THREE SILKIE PULLETS (2 WHITE & 1 BLUE) 11 MONTHS OLD IF YOU KNOW ANY ONE INTERESTED. PRESLEY'S SON JACKSON HAS FINALLY GROWN UP TO WORK FOR HIS FOOD. SILKIES HATCHING NEXT WEEK, END OF APRIL & FIRST WEEK OF MAY. I CAN FINALLY SEE YOUR BEAUTIFUL HOUSE & BRING YOU THE TREE SAPLING FROM GRACELAND

Me too. They just make ya smile.

I gotta go food shopping in this downpour. Ugh.............
Ugh, stay dry! It is NASTY with a capital NASTY out there-I was at the Vet's this morning for Kairi's check up and the rain sounded like someone was throwing rocks at the building! Noah almost got a call.

Roberta, I hope you feel better soon-this weather has got to be causing you even more pain.

My daughters Junior Prom is tonight. She's got curly hair and thank goodness she wasn't planning on having it professionally done. I'm off to pick up the Boutinniere. (or however you spell it-the flower thingy for the boys lapel) She got him a tiny purple orchid spray to match her dress. It should be gorgeous, one of my best friends is the florist and the woman has some talent.

Stay safe in this weather!

Mark your calendars! On Monday, Doc Peter Brown will be on a computer based radio show concerning hatching problems, determining fertile versus infertile, causes of dead in shell, possible causes and remedies of a number of hatching problems. Per Doc, conducting egg "breakouts" is the key to determining hatching problems. If you are interested but can't tune in for the live show, it will be available online for playback. I am a big fan of Doc's. He is not only extremely knowledgeable but he is also good person who has always supported my family's poultry needs in a caring manner.

And for all the new folks, everyone should purchase Doc's emergency kit for poultry. It is only $25 and just one item alone in the kit, could cost more than $25 at Agway or Tractor Supply. www.firststatevetsupply.com

Maggie, This is so true!!!
I am a babbler too!

As I understand it woman need to say 3,000 words per day as compared to the 1,000 words men need to voice.
I wonder if typing them out counts??

Prom nights here have been replaced by FD dinners! When she gets to wear her dress instead of her uniform, Laura goes crazy with shoes, accessories, nail polish, etc, etc. Even in uniform, though, the hair is a big thing. I saw a friend of mine last night (he's in the dept with Laura) and he told me he didn't know it was her until he saw her tattoo! "She cleans up real nice."

Hi and Welcome! I live in Miller Place, 2 minutes from the Mt Sinai Agway. I know last year they didn't have any chicks after Easter, but have no clue about this year. I'll ask when I stop in there probably on Sunday-I need DE, and they have relatively good prices, since you don't have to pay shipping.

This thread is getting filled with folks very local to me! :celebrate

I grew up in that development right by that Agway, but never went there, no need. Not to sound to stupid, but what does DE stand for? I find that everyday there's more to learn. I am very appreciative that I was directed to this site and that so many people are more than willing to help. Thank you all!
