Hello all. I took everybody's advice and went with the family on Su day to Riverhead Agway. The plan was just "to look" but when we got there and saw the little puff balls the kids went into action. As they danced around mom I spoke with a really nice couple that bought 8 chicks from there 3 years ago and were back for more.
Just before me and the kids were about to pounce, we were told that all the chicks were accounted for...you have to preorder
So we bought a little brooder kit and some other things because we were told to come on Tuesday and if there were chicks not picked up we can get them. So where was dad at 7:54AM yesterday?? With mom on board, at Agway in River head picking out 1 production red named Lucky, 2 dark Brahmas named Nugget and Penny, 2 Columbian rock crosses named Dumpling and Pluckyew and 1 golden laced wyandotte named Henrietta..emphasis on Jenny.
Didn't get the easter egger kids wanted or the buff orpington I wanted, but let's face it, they are all cute as sin and if I got everything I wanted I'd have twenty some odd birds and the town of Brookhaven would frown on that.
When I figure out how to add pictures I surely will. Thanks again for all the advice up to this point...I am sure there will be more needed soon. Gotta go, Lucky is our loud singer a d I hear the music
