Sizzles (silkies) are adorable and also comical to watch when the wind is blowing up their behinds.Frizzles are a mutation of the feather gene and can be found in most if not all breeds of chicken! The frizzle cochins are really sweet though-cochins are fluffy to begin with!
But they are wonderful dogs Suzanne. Sweet tempered, good with kids etc.
Just their "baying" would make some folks nutty. They just can't help themselves.![]()
I've heard of Basques just this spring and they sound like great chickens. I'd like to see how your's turn out, then maybe add them to my future wish list.

She really does a good job. This is her 3rd batch and she's an awesome mom. I can let them outside with her running the yard freely....and sit and watch them for hours foraging and learning how to find bugs and scratch. And when they are scared/startled how fast they can dive under her protective wings is something to see. She is fearless as well.Mags, your Silkie momma is doing such a great job! My goodness, she is gaw-juss! So are her babies! I love Swedish Flower Hens. Color me envious!![]()
Well that and their inability not to steal food from any surface...including out of your hand if you turn away. We also have a golden retriever. He is the best dog I ever had, just a lot of shedding. He looks at the girls with his brow furled and ears perked up...kinda like, " hmmm, what can I do with these"?
