Are you trying to make me feel guilty? (because it's working)

So after driving down from Saugerties, with a stop at McEnroe Farms, we went to watch the local holiday parade. Laura, Mike, and Mike's mom and sister were all marching in the parade. We had a lot of fun, but I'm exhausted. Is it really only 9:35?

Yea, I think I am going to build a retirement coop, when the time comes for the girls who don't lay anymore. I couldn't possibly get rid of them. Would be like get rid of my kids or my dogs or cats, I couldn't stomach it.

Hopefully, I will be lucky - by that time... I will be able to buy a larger piece of property - allowing me even MORE girls

We visited Meadowbrook Farms, in Wappingers Falls - and my middle daughter wants a bunny - so was curious.

Someone set up a thread in the Emergencies section with names of vets. What a good idea!

I guess we should add the info we've collected. It's a little hard to access - it's all on one thread. Maybe someone like an administrator will organize it better.

A great idea whose time has come!

Morning!
I think they add to the beginning after admin goes thru it.
So you just have to look for the state. Narrows it down.
How are the girls?

How much of a drive is it for you, Al? It's a nice day for a drive! They have lots of meat in the freezer and some beautiful chickens in the fridge (dinner tonight). They're a little light on the fruits and veggies right now, but they always have great pies and breads, honey and jam. It's great in the spring to pick up vegetable plants - especially heirloom varieties. I always go for the grass fed beef. Picked up a steak, two pounds of hamburger meat, stew beef and a big roast for a holiday dinner. Plus tonight's chicken, some organic potatoes and organic pears and a pie pumpkin. Just over $100. Expensive, but once in awhile we eat really well!

I have to share a pumpkin pie recipe once I get it from my sister in law. Since we had sent my mother to Italy in September, we had a sort of Italian twist to Thanksgiving this year. The recipe is for pumpkin/marscapone pie. UNBELIEVABLE! Plus the pumpkin was from their garden.

I took some pictures of the girls this morning, mostly Gladys, to compare the growth in her comb and wattles.

This is how she looked when I left:

Suzanne, that comb really grew in such a few short days. Now you can really anticipate some eggs.

Today, Marie and her friend went to a craft sale at a college (not sure which one) in Dutchess. If they get home early I might just be able to convince her of the 40 mile ride to McEnroe's. Grass fed beef is soooo much tastier than corn fed.

The pumpkin pie sounds awesome. Shame that I am the only one in the family that likes pumpkin pie.
