Me again.

A Christmas miracle: Agatha, who has much better dramatic timing than Gladys, laid her first egg this morning.

It was delicious. Thanks for my Christmas breakfast, Aggie!

Talking about Prime Rib...... My wife sent me to the butcher counter at or local DiCiccios' (not sure of spelling) to pick up a prime rib, Well I looked at the Angus dry aged rib and thought it looked good so I asked he butcher to trim it for me. It was about 8 and 1/2 lbs. When he handed me the roast all wrapped up I nearly hit the floor when I saw the price was $175. At this point I felt committed to the purchase because he boned and tied the meat and bones back to form the roast, I handed the ribs to my wife who just finished an eye exam. Her eyes were dilated and she couldn't see all to good. We proceeded to check out. When my wife heard the total she nearly $hit.

She read the price on the roast and couldn't see the 1 in the 175. We paid for it. As we walked out my wife reasserted, this is why you don't food shop. I must say it was an incredible meal.

Rich, I picked up a small Angus rib roast for New Years from DeCicco's too. I got mine from the precut counter and got lucky with a four pound roast for $44. The prices at the butcher counter are incredible. Try looking at the Kobe beef prices if you want to get sick. We were in Westbury LI last night at my wife's brother and sister-in-law's for Christmas eve. Today, we cooked a fresh ham we got at DeCicco's for $1.79 a pound. A bargain.

Hope everybody had a great one.

I'm cooking dinner today. Baked ziti, turkey breast and roast beef. Don't get me started on the sides, etc. I lost track of how much it cost. We'll be eating eggs for the whole month of January!!
