Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

UMMMM, let's say it is waaayyyy more than 17. Unless you're from the town. Then it is 6.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Love the snow pics! We had our own version -

"You go first!" "No, after you, I insist!"

"OK, I'll just stay back here and uh, watch you."

Then J.Lo (our 3yr old named her) decides to be a true adventurer, and takes off for the woods -

Like Sacajawea, I am blazing a new trail across an unknown landscape. Maybe I will see the majestic Pacific Ocean, or, the other side of the coop!

Back home again, but now with a spirit of adventure in her eyes!

Today's "haul". Rhonda's first egg. Almost makes up for being home sick. AGAIN.

Here's Rhonda's first by itself. I'm so proud. Thanks, Auntie Roberta!

Quite a nice size. And a beautiful color.

Very cool snow pics. We had gotten 8 inches, and by this morning it was all gone. It got into the lower 50s here today and I think I can smell spring in the air...or is that chicken poop?

Nice eggs Suzanne. I like the color of Rhonda's first. We should have gotten at least one EE so we could have some variety in coloration.

I looked for EE's in the sale at the show last weekend.
Vera took one, and the rest had something going on that I didn't like with their eyes, don't know if it was an infection, or just irritation from being jammed up with too many others.
But I am looking for everyone. I may just have to order some from a hatchery, but it's like getting just four potato chips....and just today Ideal sent me a sale flyer. Today only, tophat special, $1.00 each.
Would love to get some polish, but the minimum is 25.
Ahh, what's a few more?

Guys, I have a question I wanted to ask you before going to the disease thread.

One of my girls has no feathers on her bottom. It starts from her tail feathers to her underbelly. No feathers at all, just skin. Only this one bird has it. It had to happen over the last couple of days. Also, we don't see any feathers in the coop or run. Any ideas?
