I came home for lunch and found the new run partially framed out. After school and PT and stopping at Donna's house to pick up the chick feed, I came home to a completely framed out run. It just needs two cross pieces on top and then we'll attach the hardware mesh all around. UNBELIEVABLE!! It looks just the way I envisioned it. I'll post a picture tomorrow.
And I have to say, Donna has the most beautiful chicken paradise in her yard. Her house is fantastic - so much style and warmth. I have house envy, big time!
I met the famed Mrs. Cuddlesworth and was treated to the sight of her leading the chicks up the gangway to the coop for the first time. She is a great mom - patiently showed them how to walk up the ramp a few times until they got it.
Big thanks Donna, not only for ordering the feed but for the guided tour of your own little slice of heaven.
And we figured out that Gladys must be flying over the picket fence (3ft. high). We're going to try adding a foot or so of chicken wire at the top to keep her in. I knew that one would be trouble, right from the start.
2 weeks to the Lav Orp hatch.
I need to find a way to thank Bobby for all the work he's done. Any suggestions? (Keep it clean, folks.)
