AHa!!!! I knew it !!! Someone put the thought in my head. Guess who's getting a box of americauna chicks

I'm very happy

8 orp eggs and 6+ Ameracauna eggs more than
make up for the cream legbars I didn't get.

The Ameraucanas come from chickenjunkies
who got theirs from peachick here on BYC.
The birds are so nice looking and the eggs are
very blue. I hope my EE lays a green egg.
I want a rainbow of egg colors. :D

I wish there were hens that lay lavender
and purple eggs. :/

A few more days and I will candle my orp eggs.
I hope I can figure out how to take pics if any
look cool.

I bought a 50# bag of developer food at Shirley
Feed. It's not organic but they do sell organic layer
so I'll probably switch to that later on. I went to home
depot and bought a big storage bin for the food,
but I decided to use it for a brooder for now.
My brother priced out the materials for building
my coop. I'm very happy he's gonna build it for me.
Everything seems to be working out chickewise.

My eggs are in the mail, I got my tracking number.

I had a horrible nightmare last night.
My eggs arrived by FedEx and the guy came in the
house cause he wanted to see the eggs. I opened
the boxes and there was a ceramic mother hen.
FedEx man picks it up out of the box and drops it!
my beautiful blue eggs where inside it like an Easter
basket, they smashed all over the floor, my dogs
started licking up the egg, I was crying, FedEx man
ran out of the house. At wich point I woke up.

Thank goodness FedEx is NOT delivering my
real eggs. :D

I think I've gone mad. Totally bonkers.
But I know a secret, all the best people are

Karen, I totally enjoyed your story. Not that I'm glad you had a nightmare, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has dreams about the chickens. We're taking a road trip on Saturday-Sunday. Gonna stay over in Poughkeepsie and go to Stormville Sunday morning. Then home to pull the egg turner so my lav orp eggs can set to hatch on Tuesday. So excited!

Have to remember to call the doctor to get a note for next week off as well. I got chickies on the way!!

And the week after that, we pick up our kitty. Guess I'll need a doctor's note for that week too.

I just candled the eggs under my broody! OMG, so cool. I have never hatched eggs before (well, technically my broody is doing the hatching, I am just supporting). You could actually see some movement in there. I had no idea. This is probably old news to most of you, but I am just completely fascinated now. So is my 5 year old.

It fascinates me enough to invite friends over, that I think would be interested to view it with me. It is very interesting!!!!

I've heard it's like an ultrasound in your house. I couldn't incubate eggs cause I'd be looking at them nonstop.

Not having a great evening. Dropped a bottle of vitamins into the toilet just as it was flushing. Down it went, oooops. Then I forgot I took a xanax and just took another. I wasn't sure I took 2 but judging by how loopy I feel all of a sudden, I guess I did. If I don't wake up in the morning, I'm leaving you all my chickens...

18 years sober. This is not a comfortable feeling.
