Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

If you guys are all interested, I could arrange for a special tour of the zoo for us. We are Patrons there and I get a tour for free every year. I should add, tour on the golf cart led by a naturalist. I could tell them to make it bird specific and throw in the great apes as well - Congo is a hike to walk to on your own.

June is a great month for us, no school, and no camp just yet, what about you all?
June is great! Thats right before work starts to really pick up and I am done with school... OH I am going to be in florida from the 15-26 =/ Anytime before/after that is great though.....

Hi all. Just got caught up on all the posts.
Been kinda bummed today. No particular
reason why. No pips yet tomorrow is the
due date but my last ones hatched early
so I was hoping these would too cause
it's my birthday. Went to my nieces graduation
from Nassau community college last night.
I'm so proud of her she graduated with top
honors and got the top scholarship from
Hofstra (free tuition and books for 2 years)
My brooder chicks are so different from the
last ones. They want nothing to do with me
they scream bloody murder when I take them
out to clean. I guess cause there are 8 of them
they don't feel lonely. My last 2 were cuddle bugs.
Oh well. At least they don't bite like my parrot
used too. Ouch. They are very noisy also, maybe
the others weren't very healthy.

I'm sure they'll warm up to you. Maybe it's the breed? Do u think?

They are orpingtons and Ameraucana, both are friendly breeds
I guess it's just that there are a bunch of them so they don't get
handled as much.
My 6 eggs are due to hatch tomorrow and I can't stop
looking at them thro the window of the incubator. I want to candle
them to see if they are still alive but I know I'm not supposed to
open the bator. I always worry during lockdown that they arnt going
to hatch. It stresses me but when the start to hatch its all worth it.

Hi. I'm so curious. Which elementary school in Baldwin is going to close?

Milburn and another one. I forget the other one. I have a friend who works in the district so I've known about it for awhile. I joined the facebook group "Milburn" - lots of alumni sharing memories. They're having a party there on June 9th. I'm really gonna try to get there. My mom still lives on Thomas Avenue, so I may drag her with me!

Hi Karen! I'm hovering over the incubator too. Maybe that's why they call it a Hovabator?? No pips here yet, but one of the eggs was moving a little and the dog was reacting to the incubator again.

We have lots of yard work planned for tomorrow, so my day off won't be spent staring at a bunch of eggs.

oh and

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I can go ANY time, other than June 9th. If it's a school day, I'll take off. Saturday, Sunday, whatever. Let's pick a date and see if we can wiggle it around to fit everyone.

How about Saturday June 2nd? No church to worry about, a weekend so we can include spouses. I know it's early - next weekend - but maybe we can pull it off!

Anyone? Anyone?
