Roberta (a/k/a "stoopid") was here this morning with the two adorable buff Orpington juveniles that she's been fostering for me. They're three months old now and ready to make the adjustment to living with my three big girls (two Delawares and a Marans).

Roberta drove an HOUR to my house and then of course had to drive an hour to get back home again.

She is so very generous with her time, her labor and her kindness.

Much appreciate knowing such a great person, and was great finally meeting her in person. We schmoozed a little while over fruit smoothies and pistachio nuts and had a fine ole time together.

If any of you are ever out in this neck of the woods, come on over. We can talk all things chicken &/or play some Rummy Cue, Scrabble, Mah Jongg. I'm near Baldwin, Rockville Centre, Merrick, Hempstead, Uniondale, Oceanside. Those are all towns that are within ten minutes of where I am in Freeport.

She is "DA BOMB" as far as I'm concerned too. I have 4 babies from her, and I can tell you they are such wonderful little girls! Miss Boots is the neighborhood ambassador to first graders.

I'd love to visit, I adore Freeport-I'm a big fan of Ottos. When I lived in Nassau, we'd go there all the time in the summer. I am a big fan of Scrabble as well, I do tend to make up words though...

Shoot me an email when you're up for a visit here. I'm retired and almost always home. (Unless I'm out visiting grandchildren.) I'm out at the gym Mon and Wed around 4pm, and on Fridays around noon. I never did fancy driving more than 20 minutes in any direction, so am always in awe of visitors from beyond that parameter. Hope you're close enough to come on over easily.
I have two Scrabble dictionaries. We can each have one at the ready so we can keep each other honest. No penalties for bad guesses. Making up words that then turn out to be admissible is half the fun. If they're not ok, who cares. I'm not vindictive, nor very competitive. So I never agree to penalties. I just like playing for the sake of playing. Don't really care if I win or not. (I am pretty good at the game, though, if I do say so myself. But it all depends on the luck of draw. Seven vowels or no vowels at all can spell disaster for anyone.

I am at my friends house for the next few days.
Mom has instructions on how to care for my baby
chicks. She's also on incubator watch. I have 7
Welsummer eggs due to hatch Thursday. I doubt
they will, these are the eggs my dog scrambled.
Although I'm not home so maybe they will hatch.
I'm waiting for a panick phone call from mom.
Although the way she spoiles the big girls, I'll
prolly get home and find her with hatchlings in her
bra. Lol.
