I don't have to watch sports. I had it put in my divorce decree.

The Scavenger was in my classroom again today, picking through the closet. Good thing I took all MY stuff home yesterday. But still. Couldn't she wait til the body was cold?

When the tough gets going, the tough call in sick. Day off tomorrow!

We made our reservations for Cape May, then I realized James Taylor is playing July 2-4 at Tanglewood. We could go see him on the 3rd, then travel down to my brother's place for his annual JuFo Party in Saugerties. Decisions, decisions. Have to decide quick though. Need to either get tickets for JT or send a deposit for Cape May.

I have to find my christmas card picture-all my kids in Jets wear.

It actually came out great, and I even got my sons to stand next to each other without fighting. This years card will be all my kids in a collective Tebow.

Speaking of football, I have a football parents meeting tonight. I love football, I love my boys playing football, I live for the games and practices...I HATE the women in my neighborhood. It's going to be rough. When you need to wear all your jewelry and designer clothes, and make up to a high school football meeting, you're in a sorry state.

I'll have my hair on top of my head, my sweats on, I will NOT smell like designer imposters, but more like SOAP. I do get a kick out of them, especially when they flirt with the fathers and coaches. I never quite got that whole thing, but then again, I'm a broody mom, I farm chickens and tomatoes. I'm a different type I guess.

Well, my two new three month old buff Orpingtons (Laverne and Shirley) made it through the night just fine. I tried lifting them onto the roost board at dusk last night, but they refused to perch there and hopped down to nestle into the pine shavings and slept there.

They came down the ladder on their own in the morning and I found them bright and chipper and softly chirping.

After my three big girls had each deposited their egg for the day, I shut them out of the ChickArena so Laverne and Shirley could have the run of the place. I got my little rubbermaid garden bench and sat there in the ChickArena chatting with them and as soon as one of them pooped (which lessened the chances of her pooping on me), I lifted her onto my lap and fed her some dried mealworms. She sat there happily for over half an hour. I stroked her and talked to her. After ten minutes, the other one hopped up onto my lap and stayed there, so I had two lap chickens at peace and content to stay there without me holding them there at all.

I felt brilliant!!! Great beginning of a beautiful friendship. I set out water and food bowls for the big girls outside so they're ok with being locked out of the ChickArena for the afternoon. After a week or so of this, I'll try leaving HennyPenny (black Marans) in the ChickArena with the little ones. I'm hoping that HennyPenny will morph into a big sister for them, and so maybe will help keep the two Delawares from bullying Laverne and Shirley when I finally try putting all five together without barriers.
